As a massive Mazda fan, this video was like gold to me. Many thanks David, I really appreciate your efforts in producing these videos! Keep up the great work!

I’ve seen several new CX-90s on the road and I find them quite elegant looking. Not overstated or over stylized. Clean looks IMO. Not like the Toyotas the last 6 years looking like space ships

David, Mazda has come a long way since the days of my 1988 323. Let's see how their 'premium' strategy unfolds over the next few years. 😉

Thank you for this video sir! I had a 22 MX-5 and just took delivery on a 24 MX-5. The fit, finish, and craftsmanship is what sold me on the first one and the new one didn't disappoint. Even though Mazda is a "smaller" car company comparatively, it by far outshines its competitors in build quality and most importantly, soul. Thank you Mazda!

Great video. Definitely one of my absolute favorite automotive channels on KZbin. Mazda have hands down the most impressive design of all Japanese car manufacturers. It is superior to all products from Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Suzuki and Mitsubishi.

Thank You, David for this and your other video's. I'm a subscriber and I really appreciate your point of view. Over the last 20 plus years, we've owned several and various Mazda models and I have become a big fan of Mazda's. I'm currently diving a 2019 CX-5 Signature and my wife has ordered a 2024 Cx-5 Signature to replace her 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring model. I'm very interested in seeing the CX-50 and CX-5 hybrids when they come out. Thanks, again.

We were looking for a new vehicle in 2018 and the Mazda 6 blew the competition away as a complete package in its price range and even today we enjoy driving it. The best looking Saloon/Sedan on the road.

Zebra lines are actually a surface analysis tool (CAD tool) used by designers to evaluate the quality of the curves that make up a surface. Its not something exclusive to Mazda at all. The way that Mazda curves the body surfaces on the side of their vehicles is unique in that it creates a very smooth S shape. Often this would be done with creases in the metal rather than exclusively done through the reflections on the surface. It is interesting and very distinctive.
@bertchiu92655 ай бұрын
Well said! I must add more regarding the smooth “S” shape on their side panels … it shouldn’t be universally applied on all vehicle designs because it can look forced or awkward on taller vehicles … it looked great on the sleek “Vision” show car designs but looks less natural on the CX-70 and CX-90 for example. I own/drive a CX-50 and am glad the side panels are generally devoid of such a superfluous contour - the vehicle’s fenders and other contour lines more than carry the design integrity without forcing additional curves into the mix.

I bought the 2024 Mazda CX-30 Carbon Edition. Love driving it. Too bad the gas tank is very small. 280 miles range. Thankfully gas is cheaper in Texas. I missed my 2017 Mazda 6. Put on almost 70K miles and sold it during the pandemic.

Good video! Years ago we had a RX-3 Wankel Mazda. It was lime green. It ran surprisingly good until the seals went in the engine. We had a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid 178K miles and still have a 2012 Fusion Hybrid 110K miles which are essentially Mazdas. Both have been great cars. We are Toyota people now, but would certainly consider a Mazda if Toyota keeps price gouging.

Just like Subaru has their schtick. Mazda’s schtick is the bmw driving machine of Japan. Glad they sorted out their rust issues… I think. This video was very interesting. I’m a BMW guy but my perception of the brand has now been heightened. Whenever I see a cx-50, especially in green, or a cx-3, I can’t help but stare and enjoy the curves.

Very informative David.Looking forward to new MX5 arriving in Spain soon.Probably the last ICE they do and if I was young and smart would vacuum wrap and store for a decade or two.As it is I shall be enjoying canyon carving and scenic minor roads.Love that it is made with two philosophies that convey meaning with words that need sentences in English.

That's very interesting, but it feels kind of one-sided without knowing what advanced manufacturing methods other brands are doing, for example, what are KIA, Toyota, BMW, Subaru, and Honda are doing that are unique? What are some of the same things they are doing?

@@pedrofernandez8729 Certain Models are Assembled from Engines Made in Japan 🗾🗾and it would cost less as Mexicana Autoworkers are getting paid half of what Japanese Workers get paid... So the imported Products from NAFTA Mehico will save American Buyers some Moneys$; less than half of Transportation Costs from Mexico to Texas vs. 🗾🗾Nippon Land across the Pacific Ocean. Still a very good Engines from Mazda and they have QC/QA like those Honda Civic Made in Canada exported to USA and Mexico back in 1990-2000 before USA had her own Honda Plants. I’m a Mazda fan, on my 2nd but the CX90 is over engineered.. Heard a mechanic say if u need to replace the water pump the whole engine will need to come out. U can’t put the trans in park without moving it up and over.. Some people don’t realize they’re not in park. Their 1st attempt at hybrid isn’t going well.. There’s multiple recalls on the 90.. I’m happy with old tech CX9. It’s a proven 4cyl and 6spd transmission. I’d still buy the 3, CX5 & 30 but all new 90….No thanks…

David, Mazda's sales in the Chinese mainland market are dismal. The MX5 and Mazda3 hatchback have not been imported, and the sales of the CX50 are not as expected. Is it because of the special needs of Chinese mainland consumers?
@jungtran49905 ай бұрын
It is 2025 Coming; and China /Chinese Automakers should rely on their own Technologies; Have you seen the Japanese Import any cars? Japanese Automaker even expanse big into USA/Canada = They don't need China Market, China should make her own Best Cars and everything at best QA/QC = Reliable. Japanese Companies like Toyoda and/or Honda/Nissan and Subaru can't even Manufacture enough Cars to have met Demands/Orders from Canadians/Americans = why do they bother or have time to Market in place that Profits are little. The averaged Cars Japanese Companies sold in USA is 55,000.00 US Dollars; and about 60,000.00 CAD Canadian Dollars; 🗾 🗾 has a workforce of less than 50 million Workers and Manufacture for more than 500 million people of USA/Canada/Australia, New Zealand ─ if I were them I would focus on where the Profits are, don't chase nonsense Mirages like Tessie Elon-gate. That is the Truth and Facts...

None of this explains the bubble butt on the CX 90 and the two row CX 90 (70). The entire rear kills the Kodo design philosophy.
@bertchiu92655 ай бұрын
Yeah I kinda agree with you here - I much prefer the cleaner and more linear design of the CX-60 than the CX-70/90’s rear - to me the entire design is too soft and bulbous. A bit more tension and linearity in body contours would have been appreciated. Some of the concepts for the CX-90 looked gorgeous - but somewhere along the line the design managers opted for the blandness of the final product. I drive a 2023 CX-50 and I really appreciate the exterior styling very much - could have been an inch or two TALLER for more headroom but otherwise it’s well-designed.
