I'm really hoping they scrap it completely and have it redesigned from the ground up by someone who actually plays engineer. Even with major buffs I can see no reason why people would take this over any of the current weapons. Really disappointing that a lot of classes got weapons that fill in the gaps in their toolkit and Engineer got Mortar kit 2.0 but arguably worse. It feels like they forgot to make something for engineer and shoehorned this in at the last minute.

do engi have heal weapon which have auto attack heal ability?

@@MrjinZin0902They don't have a weapon that heals on the Auto Attack but Med Kit 1 is a sprayed heal in front of you that can be spammed. However there are no occasions in the game when a heal auto attack would be needed unless you are trying to go for the laziest "heal" build possible.

wall of text incoming hmm mechanically it is fun and interesting but whole chain reaction thing falls apart quick if you dont position your arrows in the specific order and that's kinda hard in the heat of the moment. the fact its all ground targeted skills that have to be double tapped to activate (god forbid while swapping between a kit too) doesn't really help mid combat either. looking at the boons/condis i cant see it being used much in instanced pve or wvw (you CAN upkeep alac by staggering the detonation for barrier upkeep, but then you still have no Protection unless you want to burn though your heal skill og heal scrapper style) and with how clunky it is i only imagine it working as some sorta side noder in pvp and only if you get the time to prep the arrows on top of the node. the canisters detonating dont count as explosions so theres no synergy there with the Explosions traitline or elixits for that matter, with is odd since they do look like syringes and it would make sense for support. with 4-5 skills being seemingly copy pasted variations of the same skill it falls in line with Nades, Bombs and Mortar with makes it feel more like a kit and not a weapon with a range of utilities and attacks. the more i think about it, making it a kit would be genuinely great! atm with engi not able to weapon swap, equipping Shortbow just locks you into a slightly cooler version of mortar kit with is :s but as a kit? hell yeah! revive the mine kit, make tool belt explode all the mines for some mixed bonus, or tap the specific mine flip skill to do the chain reaction. then dip out and use an actual weapon \o/

It might work if they give it protection and fury tbh. It's a support weapon that only pulses Might. Pretty bad.

@@JebroUnity sure but engi can do that without that weapon already reliably, med kit and elixer gun, and chaos armor is very unreliable at a 20 second CD. It doesn't shore up engi's weaknesses, protection, fury, stab, and removes Mace's Regen and Vigor.

tbh, I rather stick back to my mace/shield then using this crappy short bow as a support.... sure, it may look nice/cool in solo, however when it comes to intense situation such as fractal/raid/strike/wvw/pvp run, its start to get bad

@@JebroUnity well, if u play long enough with short bow, the canister landing speed are quite average or even slow, against mob are easy, however against players? You get the idea Edit : also the short bow scales on expertise and healing power instead

@JebroUnity same bow model. Probably uses most of the same animations. They added a few new mechanics and called it a day. Could have added something like flail, whip, claws, spear (land) or an of a dozen other weapons not already in game.

Agree with him... no mobility (like other shortbows) ...wrong condis (no burning, torment, bleeding... we don't want vulnerability!!)... wrong boon (quickness? protection, resistance?...come on!)...small radius... and double click every time... i think it can be better like necro wells or guardian traps, with them activating when enemy pass over it... more testing, but in all game modes i have bad feedback like i wrote @@JebroUnity.... and NO EXPLOSIONS :(

Honestly its just lazy and lame... It probably the worst weapon of the game by a good margin... It serve no purpose... even if it was op... its the same freaking gameplay as grenade kit and mortar kit, but clunkier... Its pure garbage... They need to get back to the drawing board and come up with an actual new weapons... not a copy past of the mortar kit with other classes VFX slap onto it... If you bring this in any gamemode, sorry but your activly grieffing your squad/party and deserve to get kick...

@@JebroUnity Is it just a weapon that uses trap skills? What does it bring to the table? Even the chain reaction mechanic is going to be a nightmare to balance. Either non-chained skills are useless, or chained skills are too overpowered. There's no real middle ground here. It doesn't seem to fit into the combat system. As a kit, it's fine, but it would still be awful to balance. As an actual weapon on a class where you can't weapon swap, there's no mobility, no defense, and no damage pressure. I understand it's meant for support, but trying to support a moving target with a minimum 2-second delay between skill activation and skill effect is challenging. Even touching a moving target is going to be difficult. I don't see how it fits into the game, and I can't envision a build getting better by using it. I've been an engi main for over 8 years, playing every existing build on my class, and I can't find a single one that would actually benefit from using it. The best I can see is as a tagging stick for lab farm and/or WvW, and this is only because of the lightning effect on the auto. I respect your opinion, but I dont share it. I dont think a mortar kit with extra step is going to be playable in real combat scenario.

@@JebroUnity Reprimanded then. The frustration for Engineers is they don't listen ever. It's a terrible design, clunky, fussy and too slow for competitive play. Without weapon swap you are stuck with it. I think perhaps you are coping, as it needs to be scrapped and rebuilt. Compared to other short bows, it is terrible.
