If you use *"Nanite Medical Generator"* have one or two free Duty Officer slots i recommend the Jem'Hadar *"Etak'Kas"* ( _Transporter Officer_ ) 40% Chance of creating a Medical Generator or Shield Generator when the other is used (basicly a Free Kit Module)

I use the Echo Papa drone and the Explosive drone on my engineer and she's doing decent enough damage (also I used the lukari rep medical drone for a mobile heal).

A lot of engineers like the Echo Papa drone and it performs well -- it just doesn't work with my personal playstyle, so I can't personally recommend it. With how awkward ground combat is in the game right now, stick with the kit modules and playstyle that works for you.

Yeah you ultimately play the build that suits your playstyle the best, I just wanted to give an example of a fab build that doesn't force you to stand still.

The Shield Recharge DOFF. Is that really all that useful now? Tried it in Sompek and I don't remember it putting in much work.

Original Risian Kit Frame + kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ2UlqSqfZ6nnsU will get you through everything on elite difficulty (missing some of the more recent strong traits & kit modules, but is completely valid). Check out the DPS League for some of the more modern broken interactions and things if you want to push the dps leaderboards. The likelihood for me to update it before 2023 is slim.

It worked properly when I was using it a lot with my engineering captains during VIL, but I haven't done much ground during AOD, so it's possible it got messed up again thereafter.

looking for some pointers with ground engineer, i've gone healer fab build and it does very well at survival and aggro grab, as long as everyone is in my heal range if a high aggro build is outside my heal range they will pull stuff and most of my heals are location place it and forget it so i can't rescue someone who wants to not team play, so i use the nanite and the lukari drone the 2 crafted passives and the temp hp ground placeable device, are there traits or skills and or ground DOFFs that will either extend the range or amp up the healing?

None that I am aware of. There could be though, I just don't keep up with new doff's anymore & are frankly a cash grab if you are using any found in lootboxes (high cost for minimal returns, besides a handful in the game).

What about those choice selections down there on ground skills? Which ones are the best for each situation?

Simple answer for ground choice selections (I'm a little crammed for time right now, otherwise I would go point-for-point on this.): Not using the Commando Specialization? -- go full defensive-heavy on the ground skills. Using the Commando Specialization? -- go full offensive-heavy on the ground skills, as commando + the tank stuff should be enough to keep you alive.

@@CounterYoloGaming meant the picks like passives you get from each ground point you spend, like choosing which skill I'll be able to train or crouch vs aim bonus stuff like that. Thanks for the reply.

As much as your videos are informative, you frequently slur your words and it can be off-putting. Listen to the opening of this video for a quick example as you first say the word survivability!
