This brand new city builder is so chill! Honestly I could play this for hours and hours (if I was good enough), as someone who regularly plays Carcassonne and Dorfromantik, I was super impressed with this game's unique take on the city builder strategy cross over!

I think the strategy is, if you already know shape of the tiles for each building. You then prepared the tile that you could just put building at the center of what you already have
@patrickkeller2193

alternatively put the building but wait to complete until you fill the area.

Well, the reward is to place tiles, upgrade existing tiles, or boost future placed tiles, so it depends on which one you got. If it places tiles, then out in the open, if it upgrades, then build last. If it boosts future tiles, you want them where it is empty.

Thank You! I was struggling to align this gameplay with my somewhat foggy memories and was wondering whether they did a massive gameplay overhaul, but giving it a name cleared a lot of the fog.

Oh it struggles. If you get it on the switch that is. The game chugs along towards the mid to late game because the switch can't handle that many tiles. I knew I should have gotten it on the Xbox.

If you haven't played it before- Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is pretty fun. It's more casual in the bridge building but adds zombie killing and teammate coordination. Probably fun enough for 1 or 2 episodes.

I'm so happy you played this, so I can decide if I want to buy it or not! Just one thing tho - I'm not sure about this game as I've never played it, but in Dorfromantik the way you place the tiles actually matters, it's not just aesthetic. You can complete and unlock challenges by forming large bodies of water for example (which you can't do if you just leave the rivers placed randomly), you can achieve Perfect scores by placing tiles properly, etc.

@17:05 RCE misinterpreted the water huts: they only double the water placed in their control zone AFTER they are built. Note no bonuses (just the building completed score was awarded). The text for them read "Doubles the score of FUTURE tiles placed." (EDIT - I see this is an older version that failed to clarify that - the current version released as of Aug 23 has addressed this). Also, there's animals that you can click on for more points. ;2) Time for a little Eye Spy!

There is a difference with the two different pronounciations of Geyser. The one that would be like "Guy-zer" is the ones you were putting down in the game, basically a hole in the ground that shoots hot water / steam upwards. The Geezer pronounciation is the one that heats up your water in your house. Little English lesson from this South African. lol!
