|A------------B------------C| This is a rod AB=70cm and BC=80cm and diameter is 40cm. A force P=250 kN is applied to point B. Determine the MAXIMUM normal stress in the rod. (The rod has fixed to the wall from point A and C). What should I do, how can I determine it? Can you help?

Compression is negative so it is pointing into the member. Tension is positive so it is pointing out of the member. Tension is positive because tension is always pulling.

you have to realize that. this is math math is very important for everyone By education purpose. Beside of other subject so every calculation was very important so you have to find out whats your wrong! your application handwriting was not good be carefully and good life.
