They have very controlled & strict procedures towards entry and exit.. PPE'S /TLD/DRD.. Etc., Worked in vault towards replacement of coolant channels..(in radiation area) Safety standards are so high & being strictly followed in the year of 2006 itself.. I realized in real. In 1969, first nuclear reactor was commissioned in India in Tarapur(TAPS-Tarapur Nuclear power station). Since 1969(55 yrs gone almost), only one person died because of nuclear radiation in India. That too not inside a reactor. It is because of mis handling of radio active object. As of today, we have 22 operating nuclear reactor in India.

But contrary to the above statement: when things happen like above, i don't think they would have submitted correct numbers, the impact could be huge, just to avoid questions from World organization, they could have reduced the numbers When it comes to safety, you might have heard Ennore incident, where oil/waste was leaked in the sea, and we were using buckets to clean it up For Sujith Wilson, they took more than 80 hours to bring him up (not alive) Recent times Covid19 situation (virus detected worldwide so early, but our airports were open to virus in, later they closed entire India) let me take up demonetization: how many people suffered due to lack of planning in the execution, many stood in medical shops, banks all the day.. though it was pre-planned, included with a committee of experts, still could not execute properly, many died. Poor planning and execution and Kumbakonam incident.. So considering these situations, how quick they can react? how effectively they can react? what extend they can provide true numbers? what extend they can reveal situation? do you think our politician hands are pure and having expert minds to evaluate these things? what extend they can effectively execute evacuation things?

Japan is a country which is prone to a lot of earthquakes, so the japanese prime minister thought it wouldn't be a good idea to have nuclear reactors where earthquakes are frequent as it may end in a disaster that's y. Now imagine yourself how many friendly neighbors our corrupt to the core India has. Japan and Germany have century yrs of experience but still they too can't protect their reactors/waste from natural disasters. Nuclear is definitely a no go for a country like India.

Using word cheaper, safer and environment friendly is just words infront of radiation leakage. Carbon waste is completely different from nuclear waste. @@prabhakar_kp i not telling it's unsafe until it under proper maintenance what about nuclear waste... Carbon from a single cargo ship is greater than emissions from a power plant unit. I don't know about politician words Carbon emission is controllable but they are not doing it properly thats why that much of unnatural death happened. Further clarification just simply check emission rate of a single ship in harbour with the comparison of power plant. He told about power generation that's why I told about those but you simply about carbon emission. How can you live daily without the product made by carbon emission process. Carbon and other gas are slowly controllable by planting numerous trees and carbon recycling process but how can nuclear waste use. If those things make it recycling, that process produce pollution than you imagine.
