I have a FI based Royal Enfield bike from 2017(Thunderbird 500cc). It has kicker and starts fine whenever the battery is drained after period of non usage. No problems with the Bike circuits whatsoever in these 5+ years. I think Manufacturers are just implementing one level of cost cutting. Also without kicker the Ground Clearance is slightly better/higher in the newer models.

Illa bro avaru solrathu correct than I have the same bike.. our bike don't have the sophisticated FI system as he mentioned. Also our bike some cases are common for crank sensor damage due to kick started usage..

I agree with your understanding. However, due to strict emissions regulations implemented by the government, numerous sensors have been added since 2023. Your bike is a 2017 OBD1 variant. Currently, the OBD2 variant is available, which adheres to more stringent emission norms. Both pre and post Lambda sensors are now being utilized. The O2 sensor otherwise is very expensive because of Zirconium used in this sensor. These are more technical and gets difficult for lay man to understand. Cheers

Great explanation! My Karizma ZMR, 2012 model had FI and no kicker to start! Literally it was like a car, if the battery goes down, I just had to tow away or replace the battery! For any reason the bike dosent start, it's a breakdown, no any trick like Push-start-on-gear will work! Pros: consistent performance, consistent mileage, bike feels the same even if it is 5 years old (it was my case!) Cons: Way complicated. More ways where things can go wrong!!! I had experienced a faulty starter relay, which had prevented the start system, needed good time to isolate the fault! There was a time when the fuel pump failed, I ended up replacing that costed whooping ₹12,000! Another instance, I had a bad bank angle sensor, which didn't work efter replacing. This continously gives engine light on the console. Replaced wirings, replaced many sensors, replaced batteries. What not, I just got frustrated!!! Verdict: That was the time when FI concept was new to indian roads, there were only two bikes ZMR 225 cc and Pulsar 220 cc that had Fuel Injection tech, even service centre's had difficulty in troubleshooting. Hope the tech has matured and more reliable!!! But above all, FI, it's worth! The smoothness, Mileage and performance is very convincing!!!

How will the F1 system get the desired power supply from a dead battery? In a small commuter vehicle this is possible because of the simple design.

Great content, one more point to add. Removing the clicker is also cost saving for the manufacturer. As it involves one less part and one less effort in assembly. Just check there are cars with only one wiper, only 3 lug nuts for wheels and only one reverse parking light also.

To start an engine we need 12v. Battery with atleast 85 % of soc. That is while cranking the engine, the battery voltage may drop to 9 v from 12 v, if battery soc in a healthy condition. If soc is poor, then voltage drop may go to 7 v or less. But in case of ecu, it is design to work in minimum operating voltage, which can be 6 v also. One more information, bikes and cars uses single battery for starting and then driving ecu also. So even though battery is unable to start, kicker is much safer for customer to start and drive the vehicles. Ecu shall function with low battery and once engine started, Alternator will support for sufficient voltage to all ecu and sensors. I belive manufactures remove the kicker only for cost saving. If i am wrong, no problem.. I would request manufacture to give a indication of battery health condition to customer, so that no need to push start..

Everything is Good Bro...👌🤝 Also some reasons behind this is IP factor ( Ingress Protection is also is one of the Reason) When reducing the number of holes used in an object the IP can be achieved easily ( like iPhone) In recent times that iPhone refused to give 3.5mm Earphone Jack and Charger Port ( ultimately they achieved the IP67 After removing this) but they were saying that we are reducing the plastics but their intention is to only achieve IP.

Bro. Oru correction... Charging power will be greater than battery power also battery will be used as auxiliary only.. this is 100 percent true for car. After starting the car, the car should continuously run without any difficulty... I bike the loss in power to head lamp and horn may occur due to low battery.. that is due to lower resistance of battery most of the alternator current will be drawn by the batter since the charging cable will be thicket low resistance cable, while the rest of the harness will be thin higher resistance wire...

You have to replace the battery only. You cannot start the bike. Please watch video without skipping and till end.

Machanic told that if i am not using self start some parts will be affected and after some days bike may not be used by manual start as well. Can you please tell me is it possible?

False information.. Kicker may get damage in some years.. As the engine is designed for self start, the kicker may be designed little on lower strengthen material. However we can replace kicker along with inner gear and continue only manual start.

i have 350 bullet 2023 last model...it has unique specialities...In my bike I take my hands in accelerator…my bike goes in 15 to 20 km/hr in top Gear(5th gear)…without acceleration given…becoz my 2023 last kick start only with fuel injector standard 350 uce model (now discontinued)…is stockly they have given big rear wheel and nearly 11 kgs crankshaft…and another benefits is once I was checking this methodology in city crusing without acceleration just thugging in engine.. I rode the bike in city I have got 55 to 57 plus mileage this fuel injection with heavy crank with feul injection…when speed breakers and traffic I just drive in half cluth…and again bike gain momentum to 20 kmhr…its awesome to drive with slow heavy crank beat…and in hills it will climb in 5th gear in upslope hills…without hesitation…and another main difference is riding in 80km hr in high ways is a bliss…it goes like a constant moment…when I reach to 80 kmpr hr with sligh acceleration twist it maintain s the speed very balanced this is becoz of heavy crank mechanism and perfect fuel injection tuning…it will automatically run in 80 speed in minimal acceleration…in this scenario I got 37 with pillion to 40 km solo riding mileage…in conclusion I love this bike for this reason…and I also bought for this reason only…becoz now a days these type of bikes or rare.. And mines in the last model before it discontinued…I have driven 6 k kilometre till now the it is totally different machine..also the weight, feel, vintage kickstart only model, also my goodness it got single channel abs with front disc brakes in last models…that is very usefull…sadly it is discontinued..previous ly I have got rx100 that is also a similar vintage classic bike I rode that in my teens...it has 7 port torque induction that made 2 stroke engine to maintain perfect speed and Accelaration combination..these types of bikes are made of best engines to make drive to enjoy in all conditions with rigid chassis..more info in insta @_wasilraseen ...
