Stiffness is the force required to produce unit deformation. Calculate force required simply for 1inch deflection simply as it's kip/in.

If we checking for response spectrum in X Direction (spec X) and the values in y direction comes zero what it means ? The analysis is performed for monolithic building system completely made of shear walls.

@@EngineeringLearningPlatform sometimes code instructs to use modifiers=1.43x cracked section modifiers(I=0.7 for column, 0.35 for beam and 0.25 for slab) for serviceability conditions like lateral displacement. So, I was confused whether to use cracked section properties or 1.43 times the cracked section properties.

@@kkb3091 Don't be confused, keep things simple . Say you need to find abeam's deflection you used the "Ie" effective moment of inertia but that involded tedious calculations, so on global structural scale, the code recommended values for considering a cracked concrete effect into all serviceability checks no matter you name it gravity or lateral . U can use the code recommended by ACI as far as it's non-prestressed concrete

Its not a problem, but just a characteristic of Structure . In 99% cases unavoidable due to architectural purposes . So you got to apply Structural design procedure for this irregularity .
