He did end up polishing the face a bit. Will show it in use in the next video.

hammer head was way softer than I expected. Unlikely to be A2 if it wasn't very hard. I am not sure how well the pipe threads will hold up to being hammered on. I think I would have put some rags on the ways and polished the face in the lathe to keep it even all the way around.

Agree. They make special threaded couplings for driven wells that shoulder on the end of the pipe, should have tried to find one of those. The things he is doing on this anvil are pretty small, he has a 75 lb anvil for bigger stuff.
