Lister CS 10/2 original twin stationary engine first start in many years

This is the first actual run of the new Lister CS twin. All I did was clean the filth out of the sump free off linkage and injectors and gave it a swing. 2nd cylinder is reluctant and yes leaking at the change over valve

The one cylinder is not getting enough fuel to fire, the cylinder that is running is barely getting enough fuel to run. Having worked on many lister diesels, these things are obvious to me. It is a neat old lister and has much potential.

Graduar las toberas, u ajustar el tiempo, con relación del pistón, hace resistencia hay que ver, la graduación del tiempo tiene chispear cuando el pistón llega ala máxima altura, y húmeda se adelanta un cosa mínima con un o jeto por el inyector, la máxima, u ver qué inyector vrispes, los graduación está en la bomba y árbol de elevas.

Lister no longer makes these. You'd have to search local markets, online markets, estate sales, etc. to find one, and they are expensive (understandably). There are some imitations currently made in India, to a much lower quality standard. I bought one of these "Listeroids" with the understanding that I would need to fully disassemble it and clean out any remaining casting sand, then reassemble.

The cylinder on the right is firing. Both cylinders have whats called a decompression valve. It allows one to hang a valve open and have no load on the cylinder while one cranks it up to speed, then you pop the decomp.valve and allow the cylinder to make compression. He was using the valve for the left cylinder to help warm it up/clear it/get it firing. Still seems like it took a bit to get it going.. personally, I would have let the right cylinder get it spinning as fast as possible before dropping the decomp valve and dragging the engine down to nothing. But hey, what do I know about engines??

Say engine Fool. You do know listers run twice as good on two cylinders than one. I suspect somehow this beauty has lost its timing to the second cylinder. Either the crankshaft has rotated between cylinders or somehow the injector cam has spun between cylinders. I do not know how this is possible but you can see both cylinders firing at the same time. No it is not supposed to do this

Yes I can manage to grasp a twin cylinder runs better on twin cylinders yes. It was it's first start in decades as per title. The injector pin was stuck that was it simple. It cant only be running on 1 cylinder like you say and both at the same time either. It fires or it doesn't. It starts fine on that cylinder now and runs like trooper 👍
