I have one of these on a gravely walk behind tractor, someone swapped it. Having a hell of a time starting it though. Mines the crank start, soon as it hits the compression it’s like hitting a wall, no matter how hard I crank it.

You don’t need heat like a glow spark to start this engine? I also have one with a generator on. I’m going to try to start it for the first time this week.

No they are direct injection diesel engine. you dont need pre heating to start them. Only in severe cold they might need some oil down the inlet to help for compression. There is a rubber thing where you pour oil, next to the engine top cover. Thanks for commenting and hope this helps.

I regularly use one like this. I can't find the label. Electric starter, external alternator, fuel filter under the tank, starts after several turns with a puff of smoke out the gasket, banging noise like hit by a hammer, but the thing Iove is the little smoke it makes, and the thing I hate is no oil filter.

There is a strainer in the sump and an oil filter in the side of the engine, You can take it out and wash it.

Coupled to fiat 1100 car transmission, to 4x4 transfer case, no central differential, it's a not road legal farmer minilorry put together not far from ACME.

Its brand is ACME it shares the same Ruggerini crank case. All internal parts and gaskets are inter changeable.

3000rpm? Sounded like a Honda gx when it was bouncing off the governor. Happy new year.

Yes I wrote on the description. I do as well skip to read it haha. Italians where ahead British in the engine fields. This type of engine was out around the mid 70s. Comparing the Lister Petter at that time they had the AC1ZS the one I made a video previously. That engine certainly its not powerful enough to power a rotovator the same as this one. I dont know why they kept behind them.

@@enginelover1 Sorry, I forgot to read! The British had engines as powerful, they are just a lot heavier, probably in the flywheel. Not paying enough attention to what the customer wants. A big problem in British industry of the time.

Sorry gentlemen I must disagree, they are just different duty cycles. The new Lister petters are still twice the weight of the Lombardini or yanmar but have plenty of pump set and genset customers, the Italians just specialise at making things cheap, light and fast which you need for a rotovator but not roadwork traffic lights which run 24/7 and from what I've seen of the small 4 stroke German diesels they were similar, the 90's F1 deutz I have in my dumper is very close to the weight and power of a Lister st1.

Molto pericoloso l'avviamento e la prova. Hai rischiato di essere tirato in dietro dalla corda e di feriti vicino alla puleggia di avviamento. Inoltre i motori 4t sono fatti per lavorare in piano, la lavorano in un'altra posizione tutto resta senza olio e si rischia di grippare

Thanks for stopping watching my video. Yes you are right with that its not safe. Regarding the oil they are even built to run with the back side lowered because on a tiller it will be that way. Hope you enjoy the video.
