Is puretech 1.2 has gen 3 version , in which belt is replaced by chain?

Good day everyone, I work at Citren, in short - the engine is fantastic. Go to service every 10000 miles, oil from 2 months 2024 is 5w30, and belts are changed at 82.83 atmospheres at 80000 miles, and turbo 110.130 at 60000 miles, we learned that cars that drive longer distances wear a belt less - means the engine is fantastic. Yes, gen 3 has a chain but that doesn't mean it will be better than the wet belt disaster. If they use shitty chain tensioners or if they have badly engineered it then it will be as shameful as the gen 1 and 2 where. And as Stellantis isn't known as an engineering prowess I fear it will be the same shit in a different box. Too bad as it's a smooth engine with good power and consumption delivery.

I think you're missing out on the infamous wet belt construction where the oil eats the belt causing cluttering and blocking by belt residue. These are not good engines at all in terms of reliability. Also Stellantis is one of the worse when it comes to warranty claims. I'm hoping that their latest iteration of their puretech engines with a drive-chain instead of a belt is going to do better in terms of reliability. When the engine works fine it is indeed a very nice unit to operate your car but the potential money-pit with regards to the universally failed wet belt thing is just not worth it.

What if owners actually take care of their engines by changing the belt every 80k km and often change the oil as well as checking oil level often. Then we would not experience these problems. All of these problems can be prevented if owners are not lazy. Not PSA's fault but bad ownership.
