Finally Engl Amps at Andertons!!! My favorit Amps.
@Wyatth5811 ай бұрын
Glad to see Andertons showcasing some ENGL products!! I have the Ironball SE, the Fireball 25 and their vertical 112 and 212…just great, easy to dial in, quality made in Germany amps! The Fireball can easily keep up with my 5150 III Stealth 50, while having a distinctly different voicing and a great clean channel.

My ENGL Powerball II is indestructable. It’s been to hell and back for years of intensive use and transport and it still sounds great. Very reliable.

Great to see Engl getting more attention recently. I have the Powerball V1 and I love it, totally converted to Engl's. The SE Founders Edition would be the dream for me. Great to see Jamie too, I was a huge fan of his and Chris' playing in Biomechanical

I play Engl amps for years, i got Savage 60, Invader 100 ...and a Fireball 25 which i bought to use at home but it turned out to be my favorite for rehearsals aswell. It does not just hi-gain but also really delivers in the clean/crunch area. Also the little Fireball is much easier to dial in than the Invader. Don't be fooled by the "25W" it sounds huge trough a 4x12 and got easily enough clean headroom to keep up with a loud drummer.

The Fireball is a BEAST of an amp. The bass response is incredible. To me it's like a 5150 on steroids.

Hard agree. Especially the 100w. It's not a one trick pony people accuse of being either. Great fun to play through that.

I’ve heard many demos on the SE , and I was not a fan on this demo of the tone in the very beginning when a boost was added. The amp sounded like it was about to collapse. Most of the other tones were great, but I’d like to know what was going on in that part. Sounds like when my amp is driven to the point it can’t handle.

If you have any experience with amps, and know what type of sound you're going for, you should be able to "get your sound" from almost any amp. The flavor and feel of the distortion/drive channel, if it's geared toward metal, might take some time to dial in, but most quality amps like Engl are able to deliver what you want.

I find it a bit sad to hear Engl's technical director insists on that Engl amps aren't just for metal, yet most of the demo is played by your average metal head with an ESP, pigeonholing the whole thing. It's a relief to hear Pete's playing through the damn thing.

@SpartanLaserCanon11 ай бұрын
Lots of amps now can be dialed in to play any genre with an EQ pedal or even some multi effects pedals. Sure there are amps I like more than others for the sound of the amp itself, but with the right pedals like the KSR ones running into even a Marshall you could get modern metal tones. With my gear I don't really think I need a SE Founders Edition Engl.

I’ve been an ENGL user for the past 13 years and an advocate for ENGL as best I can BUT I must say, ENGL needs pro marketers. Lee assisted him all the time, asking the right questions for him so that he could explain the products as deeply as he wanted, however, he just said generic words about the amps that anyone could say to any amp. Completely unprepared presentation from ENGL side. You should have hired me years ago, ENGL. You know my videos… For example, go deeper into the tonestack differences. Explain how the voicings differ from amp to amp and channel to channel. Explain the best use cases per channel. Use PAF style guitars when demoing the clean channel, use strats for the crunch channels. Play something more meaningful for those parts. And man, crank that master volume a bit. All we hear is that uncooked preamp distortion. You can get it from any pedal. I mean what a waste of opportunity for ENGL team. Congrats Andertons for doing their best to help ENGL team.
