When he was commenting on an Australia vs West Indies Test in the 1990s, Michael Holding stated that he and his fellow West Indies bowlers didn't think of themselves as "tailenders" but as "lower order batsmen". I think it's a hallmark of the really good teams that the bowlers aren't content to be selected just for their bowling, and work on their batting and fielding so that they can enhance their contributions in those areas.

Tom Graveney, never usually the most inspiring of cricket summarisers (his prose being as pedestrian as his batting was elegant), for once finds the words that suit the moment as Derek Pringle, reintroduced in to the attack, sees his first ball bashed high over mid off for four by Eldine Baptiste: "Pringle comes. Pringle goes" This was actually one of Pringle's good days in an England sweater. Such days were few and far between for Pringle, England's premier medium pace dobber of the 1980s!

@jahno71542 жыл бұрын
This is almost medium pace back in those if the bowlers weren't quick they will remove the helmets that's how cricket was played in those days during the 80s
