That’s a very reductive take. Foden is a world class player who has obviously had a difficult start to the season due to injuries and perhaps some other things. We also didn’t have Palmer, Saka, Trent and Rice who are also world class players as well as several others who are excellent players. The players have to suit the system and it is very rare that Foden has been played in his most effective position, and remember he has often had a right footed Left Back behind him so he’s not had the same support on the flank he’s often played on compared to Saka on the right.
