I love these "cough" unbiased videos. Deus user (with new minelab finds bag). non deus user fiddling with deus on the users behalf :-) Yes please buy the equinox but erm ... let me know where your detecting so I can go on with my Deus :-) Also look at the 2 min mark where the deus is left off centre of the target... etc etc :-)

Thanks for your video's great help. After a year thinking about getting a minelab equinox i took the plunge and got a new 600. I'm blown away how good it is & the dealer told me a program in field 1 that suits all my needs. After 2 days I've found stuff my old XP missed time and time again & I'm confident using this machine as can't mistake IRON & i love the multi frequency & depth it's finding stuff at. Just have one question you may be able to help me with when the 600 is in multi frequency what KHZ range does it run, is it 5khz 10khz and 15khz all together so 30khz in total?? Sorry but my brain isn't good at getting my head round how it works and can't get an answer from Google, Thanks 👍👍

The 13 incch coil on the Deus vs the 11 on the NOX also gives the NOX a bit of a physical advantage too. I have them both, the HF 9 inch knocks the NOX 800 out of the park in heavy Iron, but.. The NOX is a great beach detector and a good cleanup tool for less iron infested sites. This is of course only my opinion after 2 and a half months with the NOX and 3 years with the Deus. HH and GL to all!

I like seeing these tests, but like others have already said, there's so much fiddling with settings on the nox? Set the deus to hot and off you go. No one walks around a field tweaking that much to make things sound better. Set it to how you would swing it on a day out, then Bury things to see what they sound like. The only way to see if you'd miss stuff. 👍

yeah 100% julie (y) but the reason i did it was to try help myself understand the nox in iron.... i learnt that a recovery below 5 isnt any good amongst iron.... so my mission accomplished.. ;-) with the settings on deus i did tweak it, i went through all reactivity speeds and -1 silencer and different audio responses.. it was super close... for me the nox is good but it's not going to obsolete all other brands..... ;-)

so what program was the Deus on ? what version ? to much adjusting the nox with what to me looked like the guy with the Deus not knowing what program to use clearly to me it was an attempt to make out the nox was better

Gerry G v4.1 and we adjusted all settings so not a fixed programme.... silencer was on -1

That's the first thing I noticed. So much adjusting the Nox and very little adjusting the Deus, none at all at the start.

He bud.. It comes down to preference. I have and use Nox 800 and XP ORX here in the states... I prefer xp orx.. But know guys that never leave home without the Nox... I prefer Orx between the two but use both. I have had much better iron seperation in my highly minerlized ground in the Southern USA with ORX. Enjoyed your results... Dont know much about Deus other than i really want to try it after buying orx and falling in love with the weight.

Rebel Digger exactly that mate.... these test usually only show the slightest of gains between machines... most the testing i have done with the machines the nox just has the edge.. which can make all the difference on some sites, but the main thing is to be confident in the machine you swing and fully understand its language 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 orx is a very user friendly machine and performs great ..... happy hunting buddy 🤘🤘

Linc's Soil Searcher deus n nox you cant split... very close in performance.... nox or ctx... hard choice that 👍🏼.... ctx is a better all round machine but a big lump... nox is light and faster

gwcracker just try it when you’re out and with someone that has a nox.... they both get most targets but if you get a faint iffy signal on the deus run the nox over that target and 9 times out of 10 the nox gives the better audible signal... i aint there to plug any machine just showing results.... i love the xp deus as its a cracking machine but for me i prefer the nox as it suits me better and seems to find me more targets.... if xp brought a better machine out id use that.... what ever finds me the goodies is the one ill use 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 happy hinting fella

The test was unfair as the dog was clearly carrying a jamming device around his collar, paid for by the Minelab owners, and the Equinox was running at 40khz, tell Phill to use a HF coil next time! lol

Interesting results,were you on multi frequency with the Equinox ? I have used the deus on a site with quite a bit of iron and Gary,s programe made the good targets sing out.

Ken and Helen Cameron yeah with a slightly different scenario it will do, this was just one scenario and a simple test.... i mainly did it to see if the nox can cope with irony sites and to hear what the changes of different settings do and there knock on effects...

Nice video Sid but I think it's hard to judge machines on surface tests. Testing tones on non dug targets learns more I reckon. I watched a video tonight where a guy had a target in the ground, non dug. The Equinox was a total positive tone, the Deus was a bad tone. It was a rusty iron screw. Deus won hands down on that particular true target. There's so many permutations. They are both great machines. I love the WS4 headphone pod and using different headphones, and the overall design of the Deus is still the best in my opinion. It would have been interesting to see that test with the Deus HF coil. The problem is you can't set the Equinox reactivity to suit every target, it seems to be a fussy machine and you can only set up one way when your walking. What would Iron Bias 8 possibly miss? hope that makes sense. Thanks for the video buddy. ATB MMMD

Mud Max Metal Detecting the settings of iron bias is similar to silencer on the deus.... the setting adjustments are the same as if using the nox.... you have to adjust them on the deus also to get the most out of your machines .... i keep doing little tests as too understand its effects etc etc... if iron bias was on 8 you start to mask out the good targets close to iron... same as if you use highest silencer setting on deus.... the deus gives less chirps over iron as its not fully open... seems to be similar to say iron bias 2 on the nox

Add a tesoro tejon too this test or a laser trident much cheaper detectors , I have tested both against 2 different deus on several different tests , The deus hasent beaten the tesoros on anything. Haven't tried the new minelab yet , And b4 the deus owners start try your deus against a tejon and see for yourselves.

Both top machines with Little difference in performance. In reality whichever you chose learn to use it right and don’t keep looking over the fence .currently using a nox but it’s still not beat the Roman coin total in one day , that one goes to the blisstool v3!!! . Sorry didn’t mean to say that.

ANy one with experiance and knowledge knows these sort of tests are fabricated ...soil conditions conductivity and shape...obvious the nox will give a better targrt responce to lock on target running higher frequency ...all machines are made to pick up round objects ....no mention of khz or settings ...its like pointless ...the real tests are done on real targets found and shouting a mate over to check if both machines lock to targets which i do.....The nox as failed to even give a signal against a budget machine on artifacts on a real life dig even in all metal would not pin it no matter what.......and i dont do videos or have followers or sponsors so nothing to lie about

Penny Ward its just a simple test... showing how a coin even at one inch can be lost when amongst iron... showing settings need to be played with and not just left in a single programme... i also needed to see if the nox was any good amongst the iron as im a massive deus fan and was always thinking i was missing stuff with nox... they both did well in my opinion... 👍🏼
