If you're new to my channel and videos, hi! I'm Evan Edinger, and I make weekly "comedy" videos every Sunday evening. As an American living in London I love noticing the funny differences between the cultures and one of my most popular video series is my British VS American one. I'm also known for making terrible puns so sorry in advance. Hope to see you around, and I'll see you next Sunday! :)
If you want to know HOW I make my videos including gear, lighting, all the tiddly bits that connect it all together, (with cheaper alternatives and kit I used to use), I've listed each item, what it's great at, and why I use it on the gear section of my website here:

When I was little I was invited to a tea party with adults. I'd never been anything like it, and so I was doing what they were doing adding milk and sugar to the different teas. I'd tasted 3 or so different teas that way. And I couldn't figure out why I wasn't enjoying it. Then the host's husband walks through and asked: Have you drank the Picard tea yet? 🤔 Picard Tea? Oh! Tea Earl Grey Hot! I loved Earl Grey Tea, but I don't drink it with milk and sugar. I drank it and the rest of the teas black from then on out and enjoyed them so much better then the first teas.
@dahyimi2185

@@DoctorsSong I can relate. The first time I had tea, it had sugar in it and I didn't like it. I wasn't accustomed to bitter tastes back then anyway, so I might not have enjoyed it regardless, but I added more sugar trying to kill the bitterness and it just became worse. I only started to enjoy tea when I decided to have it black, no sugar added. The same goes for coffee, by the way. I occasionally add milk to tea or coffee, but I can't stand having them sweetened.

Twinings is my favourite as well. I prefer their Ceylon tea though. I really recommend buying their loose leaf tea and getting some sort of metal in-cup infuser. Also, I feel like the "milk first" thing is completely misunderstood. Obviously you can not put milk in before you steep the tea! The "milk first" is speculated to have originated back when people served brewed tea from pots. Poor people had low quality china and added milk before the hot tea, to avoid damaging the cups. Upper class people had high quality porcelain that could handel swift temperature changes and therefor added tea first and then milk second (if at all. The had more expensive teas and sometimes added lemon or nothing). Science however shows benefitd to adding the milk first IF the tea is already brewed: The milk will be warmed more evenly and are less likely to result change struktur (that can lead to the skin on top of the tea). But NEVER milk before water is your brewing with a teabag in a mug. I think they still use the capital punishment in those instances.

@@melleme89 I never brew tea in the mug. If there's no teapot, no tea for me. I always put the milk in the cup first. Mostly because if you do, you don't need a spoon. But I'm not fanatical about it. Of course I'm Canadian so what do I know. My go to is standard Tetley orange pekoe.

This surprised me you’d think English people would be the top tea 🫖 drinkers worldwide but no it’s the Irish ! But then this didn’t surprise me because my Irish family drink more tea than any other people in my life here in oz ! In Ireland there’s only two major brands you either drink Barry’s or Lyons tea .

I'm Norwegian, and that's the only tea I drink lol. I have to buy it on the net directly from Barry's, the shops here only have Lipton, maybe Twining's if you're lucky but it's really expensive. I drink a lot of tea, so I need a good tea that doesn't cost €5,50 for 25 tiny single cup tea bags that wouldn't last me a day

This might be my fave Evan video so far 😁 nice to see another Twinings fan. I tend to go for their Strong Breakfast, though. I find the standard English Breakfast a little weak. I actually used to have my tea with two sugars, and was a Tetley drinker. When my partner introduced me to Twinings she convinced me to try it without sugar and I found it was lovely! I then tried to apply this to Tetley and discovered why I'd been having it with sugar all these years. It's bloody awful! Fun fact about Yorkshire Gold. It's actually Sir Patrick Stewart's tea of choice, and not, contrary to popular belief, "tea, Earl Grey, hot"!

I think we have similar preferences in tea - I usually drink the Twinings English Breakfast or Everyday as just everyday tea, T2 have amazing teas for a treat, PG Tips is almost there but just a bit fruity - not bad but a bit unexpected. Clipper are very solid and a good moral choice. I do wish Twinings would go plastic-free, there's like a fine cobweb of plastic in the teabag that hangs about if you compost at home. Weird. The best American tea I've found is "Harney and Sons" - which I found on holiday in New Zealand! They have a Decaf "Paris" which is very like T2's French Earl Grey, only, decaf so good late at night. I know, I know, Decaf, but, given the choice between evening Decaf tea and sleeping, evening regular tea and no sleep, or no tea, the sleep wins!

PG Tips, Twinnings and Tedley are all sold sold in the US. There's a store in Santa Monica called Ye Old King's Head Shoppe that sales all things from the UK. I'm not fond of Tedley, if offered , I'd drink it but it's not what I'm gravitated towards. I usually go between Lipton's (grew up drinking it whenever I was sick or just because), Kroger brand ( supermarket genetic) and Celestial Seasonings (herbal) . Unless a person wants to spend $20+ on loose leaf tea from a tea shop , what's found on supermarket shelves. With all of that said, I have done afternoon tea a few times over the years. Lipton is our version of PG Tips in that just about everyone grew up drinking it.
