Best way to see if a Puppy is right for your family is to flip it on it's back so it's belly is upright. If it doesn't resist and stays put then the puppy is a loving little fatty. If it tries to rollover in fear it should be an adult only dog.

bananana blade She did not make it, and became weak after just a couple of days, she was gone very quickly so she did not suffer. Some pups "fade", and are just not strong enough. They call this fading puppy syndrome. I tube fed her, gave her fluids and put her in an oxygen chamber, but she was too far gone. Doing that does save many of them though, as we have only had a few pups not make it. She was a special little girl, I still remember holding her in my hands as she was the first pup we lost.

In the beginning we saw an idiot drying off the newborn with a towel instead of the mother cleaning the pup. Bad sign.

Before you call anyone an idiot, the polite thing to do would be to ask why. So in turn I could easily call you an "idiot" because English Bulldogs are born via C-section, so how can the mom lick the pups if she is under anesthesia?

It puts her to sleep, then the puppies are removed using a C-section. If the correct anesthesia is used (isofloraine only) the puppies wake quickly, otherwise if given propofol the puppies become too sleepy to wake up and breathe, then they die. It is a very important process and also one of the reasons English Bulldog puppies are so expensive.

@@desertskybulldogs I notice there was never a comment to people asking about the presence of the mother, not only in the video, but also in the lives of the pups. Are these raised without their mother, and if so, is that a standard practice?

@@pbboeye1012 No but when they are younger mom cannot go in and out as she wishes, because of their clumsyness and stregnth they must be watched and observed very closly during feedings until they are weened as they could easily sit on a pup. There is not a mom shown in this video, but if you see some of my other videos you can see the moms. This has been years ago I do not breed any longer but I sure miss it.
