Күн бұрын

If you want to learn how to improve your English conversation skills a great exercise is for you to do an in-depth analysis of a short conversation snippet or monologue. Taking a very close look at short pieces of English conversation can help you more deeply understand the nuances of American English Pronunciation and help you sound more American. I’ll help you study stress, reductions and linking-the three most critical aspects of an American English accent.
This English conversation exercise is broken into two parts. First you’ll hear a monologue (a short piece of conversation) and then you’ll get the detailed analysis of that conversation. This method-what I call Ben Franklin Exercises (get more of these kinds of exercises here: • English Conversation [... ) -allow you to comprehend, listen to, and repeat the actual spoken English that Americans use in everyday conversation. If you’re like most English language learners, this is your aim: to have conversational English skills that allow to fully participate in whatever conversations you desire.

19:08 full monologue practiced in sep 15th, 2021 Tonight, David and I are going out to dinner with two friends, a double date. We both got sitters, and we got a reservation at Parc at 6:45. I already know what I am going to get. They have the best French onion soup I have ever had. I don’t know how long it takes them to make it but it’s worth every minute. It’s going to be so great to enjoy a nice meal catching up with these friends.

Thanks so much Rachel for this terrific video. To my view, Ben Franklin exercises are the most essential accent training videos that are to die for and that non native American English speakers can't afford to miss out on. Furthermore, the analyses you present are crystal-clear and fabulously interesting. I do hope more Ben Franklin exercises are going to be presented soon. I can't wait to watch them. Always to your success Rachel!

Rachel, your method/analysis is exactly what is needed. I am following other courses as well. Some are also good. Most are. You just go to the level of explaining that is making pronunciation clear and understandable why American English sounds different and what cause this to be so. Enjoy it very much! Thanks.
