‘It feels like a real privilege to live here and to be custodians for this extraordinary building.’
When piano player Tim and his partner Daniel bought a substantial Victorian home in the Malvern Hills, they were told by many that it was ‘a stupid decision’. Despite this, they fell in love with the romance and grandeur of Gable Hill House and are now living their English country home dream.
Built in the 1850s as a holiday home for a wealthy businessman, the property was in need of serious updating and repair work. Over the past 10 years, Tim and Daniel have lovingly restored the home in a sympathetic style in keeping with the property.
The project is truly a labour of love and the results of their hard work are nothing short of spectacular. Gable Hill feels akin to a gallery, with Tim describing it as ‘living in a work of art’. His eclectic style lends itself beautifully to the Victorian home, and his thrifting skills have been put to the test with 95% of their homeware sourced from a nearby flea market.
Tim and Daniel have maintained the integrity of their impressive home, whilst injecting it with new life and endless charm. We’ll be following their journey to see the continued renovations of Gable Hill House and their latest second-hand finds - affectionately known as Tims bits!
