It's hard to feel sympathy for this family. They made a name for themselves with these personas of arrogant fools, being filmed for "reality Tv" in 2004, 2012 (this show) and again in 2014. It sure looked to me like they were hamming for the camera, being dense, refusing to work if it's "not fun". One suspects they must have learned something, because they do have a website for their hotel/events venue but there is no telling how successful they are. Somewhere in there they got enough money to restore the Ballroom, so maybe being fools for the camera is a paying business model?

It was so great to see Francis slam the door in Kishandas face, as Simon called her the “petulant child”. If ever there was a spot on description of a person. They act as if they are spoiled yet the state of that manor crumbling around them shows otherwise. It’s a shame that the house is in their hands. They definitely will not be leaving the house in better shape than they found it. 800 years. 800 years of sweat, toil and work by artisans through the years. 800 years is a testament to how great the ones who built it must have been. These people have done such a disservice to their family’s history. I think in the end the kids will either sell it off on their parents old age or after their death. I think this is the last generation of this family in this house, all because they are too arrogant and unwilling to change their thinking in any meaningful way. As for Simon. That man has far more patience than most. I would have walked out much sooner. But, I bet when Simon thinks back on Francis slamming the door in Kishandra’s face, I bet he does so with a smile on his face.

One thing I've noticed is that many of these owners whose families have had these stately houses for generations never even consider the thought of getting a job to pay for upkeep of their home. I guess it's 'beneath' them to work like a commoner, even if they are dirt poor or deep in debt.

Kishandra is quite stuck up, rude, not intelligent, selfish, very nasty really… and also talks down to the gentleman trying to help them !! It did not phase her that she was being filmed with those lack of manners and hateful attitude. The way she schooled the gentleman about the difference between linens and cotton was horrible and rude, but he was gracious. He was gracious more than one time! If you plan to be a host/hostess then your kind presence and good manners with cheer would be very important! The husband is someone who probably drinks quite a lot because he kept mentioning “ all the alcohol they want”(slurred speech and lives in a bit of a fairytale, NOT reality- especially his “ American story” or coasting down the river). As an American I can assure you expectations would be just as high as the shooters and business people who would be guests from the UK. The research was good and the ideas were good however the couple not only were not in agreement but stubbornly and rudely opposed to do what needs to be done to make anything work or make a difference. They did waste the gentleman’s time ! Very sad. I am sure the estate has potential. The owners’ overinflated idea of what they currently offer will keep them from succeeding in anything in the future. Inherited wealth doesn’t guarantee a good mind or sense of business!
