There was no all black variance, only one single T5 which was a privately owned aircraft based out of South Africa.

I think we were told as Air Cadets Fuel consumption was 80 Gallons a Minute on full re Heat....Guessing this was 1987" ish" when 11 squadron was transititioning from the Lightning to the Tornado F3 ?

I wouldn't be surprised if that was about right. We used to run a 2-seat Hunter with the non-reheat Avon 207C and that used 56 litres (12.3 gallons) a minute at normal operating speed. Tick-over was around 26 litres/minute.
