Completely agree with Thogden, Thomas Tuchel is the best knockout manager in the world (as in knockout football) And he is a winner, he makes teams so defensively strong

I like Tuchel, but as a Bayern fan it's quite funny that he's now portrayed as the best knockout coach in the world. Bayern totally embarrassed themselves last season and were knocked out of the German Cup against a 3rd (!) division team, Tuchel coached so badly and even left Kane on the bench for 90 minutes... Substitutions came far too late, other key players also sat on the bench for far too long. That was one of the worst performances by a coach I've ever seen. The year before, after Tuchel was hired, Bayern's performance in the Cup was also extremely poor and they went straight out.

@@restinzastuchel doesnt hold that status in what most would consider small games, but when it matters, he gives me lots of confidence. There was not a manager in the world that I trusted more than tuchel last year when facing arsenal and madrid. He is definately the best knockout manager in the world, just his favoured tactics never really fit bayern

I think it's only a problem, if lets say for next 20-30 years there will be no-English managers at all (if there even would be someone world class in future), but that's of course matter of who is available at given time, when you need a new manager.

When it comes to a national coach I‘d pick Tuchel over Klopp 100%. Klopp‘s success really comes from building up a team with hand selected players and a very specific style of playing football. I can see it being hard for him being a national coach as there he has to work with what he has and can’t buy a player that he needs for the system. Tuchel is more pragmatic and can work with what’s available. I‘d say the same about Guardiola. He wants to play a specific style of football and needs specific players for this. He’s better suited as a club coach where he can buy whoever he wants (which he did with City).

Last year before he signed for Bayern I was really hoping the DFB would have sacked Flick and signed Tuchel as I can see him being very good as a national coach. Most of his problems as a manager came from him not getting the players he wanted and his relationship with the team eventually burning out. Both of these things aren’t issues with a national team as Tuchel can pick the players he wants without interference and he’ll only see the players for one week every few months. Unfortunately this is a very good move by England (unfortunately just because if he wins something we won’t be able to point and laugh at England anymore if we suck😜)

He signed for january bc of money, there are even some rumors, that he had technically contract till next summer. In other words, he could've earned more by sitting on the rest of his bayern contract and scratch his balls till next summer, than for the entire 18 months England stind. Plus some seats in club football seem to be loose to. City, Real, United. He really wanted *this* job. He'll be uncomfortable, if he needs to be. I hope Pope is first decision. See you in the WC semi's or final, lads. It's going to happen. England - Germany. Let's hope for penalties ;)

Would be hillarious to have a WC final with England and Germany in 2026. Even if Germany lost, it would still be a German, who got the title for the Three Lions. I mean from the entertaining perspective this would be a great addition to the (football) rivalry between both countries. But I also can understand those, who want to have an English manager because the competition should be about national football. And I pity those, who come with xenophobic reasons refusing Tuchel.

Don't share your enthusiasm. As a german I had to endure many years of his social awkwardness. W/o any exception, no club management, no team could stand to work with him after a very short period of time. (And when "he" won CL, he took over responsibility mid-season. After that the decline of Chelsea started.)

Completely agree with the 'son' -- fawk English coach/pundits. Competitive sports at the world class level deserves the very best if winner is what is desired. Tuchel is a proven manager unlike Southgate Potter and Howe. England is a joke overhyped and overrated so an average coach/manager is not going to make them win anything period. With Tuchel at least they might have a chance though unlikely but he is still a way better coach/manager than any other Englishmen.

As a Bayern fan I agree with you. I don’t think he’s a manager anyone should want. What I think is that international management suits him better than club football, so he’ll do better at England than he did with let’s say Bayern. With that being said, though, I think both he and England have enough negative qualities to still not win anything.
