My arm is broken. Could we consider it passive voice too ? If I conclude that past participle adjective is close to passive voice in many cases, am I wrong ?

can we use 'swept' which is the past participle of verb sweep as an adjective?

Yes, there is an adjective "swept" which means something is curved. Like a sword for example. Is that what you mean?

I've a question for you Chelsea. We often hear the expression "to be woke" nowadays and we are told "woke" is the past participle of "wake". I don't understand, I have always been told that the past participle of "wake" is "woken" or "waked" (archaic use). Isn't "woke" the simple past of "wake"? Thank you for any explanation.

"To be woke: is also used as a slang expression, that this correct. Language changes so much and often in everyday spoken language, it does not follow the common and correct grammatical rules. That's one of those instances here. Does that help? Thanks so much for your interest and I hope you are enjoying our videos.

@@Robotel-SmartClass Thank you for your answer. My understanding is that "woke" is the past participle of "wake" only in Ebonics.

I was understanding how I would use it as an adjective but now I realize it is a past participle in fact

We can use past participles as adjectives like “The USA established in 1776 is a great country”, but why can’t we use the word “been” as an adjective alone like “I been born as smart person am not really smart.”?
