English Review Far East of Eden: Tengai Makyou - Ziria TurboGrafx-CD

Had a lot of fun with this one. It was pretty cool experiencing such a major jump for gaming. Looking forward to playing the rest in the series when they get translated. What other games on the TurboGrafx-16/ PC Engine do you recommend?

It's a solid game, and I like that they got the voice acting right pretty much right from the start, whereas in the West that's been a problem for a long while! As for PCE/TG16 games - Bonk's Adventure; Blazing Lasers; Castlevania: Rondo of Blood; Dungeon Explorer I and II; Legendary Axe. Those would be my recommendations for good (mostly) action games. There weren't many localized RPGs on the platform, so it's mostly about fan-translations - of which there aren't 'that' many for now. We'll see how it goes in the future!

I can imagine the encounter rate feeling very high but you could actually do much worse at the time, Benkei Gaiden and Startling Odyssey were the worst I found on the PC Engine and make this game seem tame. I also want to recommend all four of the Valis games on the PC Engine as well as Splatterhouse, Ninja Spirit and Blood Wolf.

I've heard of Valis. Seems kinda like anime castlevania. I'll give it a go one of these days. Thanks for the recommendation.
