Cool project; most of the games were never released outside of Japan in this case, too. Tengai Makyou was a big series there, even though the add-on didn't sell quite as well as the original PCE/TG-16. Lots of games with neat visuals as well. Here in Europe this console was rare/almost unavailable in most countries. Too bad, but it is what it is.
@seamusboucher3832 жыл бұрын
I don't think the Turbo was officially released in Europe.
@mariusamber32372 жыл бұрын
@@seamusboucher383 I seem to recall it had some sorta limited release in France and Spain... maybe the UK... but that's about it? Not sure if it was fully official, it's possible that it wasn't. Either way, nothing too substantial, it's a rather obscure console here for sure.

Man, video game history would've been much different if the Turbografx CD was more popular (and affordable/marketable) than Sega consoles. But then again, without SEGA, there wouldn't be a Sonic the Hedgehog. Though I couldn't help but imagine the first 3 mainline Sonic games with (optional) voice acting on the Turbografx CD.
@mariusamber3237 Жыл бұрын
It would have done better in the West, I feel. More games would have been released, since Sega would generally localize as many games as they could before Saturn, but then again, at the time the perception of what was good for the Western/Japanese audiences differed more so than nowadays. Either way, here in Europe TG-16/CD is quite obscure, sadly, way more people remember Sega CD for sure. I believe the sales in Japan weren't 'amazing' either, compared to the competition... but their game library is still much bigger.

I remembered when pc engine attachment CD came out, it cost like 9 times the price of pc engine. It was astronomical amount of money. The pc engine has been out for a while , so the price of it dropped by the time CD unit came out and the CD unit cost so much that’s it was unattainable dream for everybody.

The PC Engine had the biggest and best collection of shmups of any console. More than the Mega Drive. More than the Saturn. More than PlayStation. The good thing about those is that you don't really need to know the Japanese language to enjoy those

Hi bro. my name is Ivan. and I'm looking for 1 very old childhood game. 2d game. when you enter the game, there is a blue or purple round man in the main menu who looks like the guys from the emendems advertisement. all I remember from the gameplay is that you need to collect keys or water bottles and open doors passing through obstacles in the likeness of a drill. snakes and somewhere there was a lvl with planes that I lost and that's it. thank you if you answer :)🙂

I must be in the minority. Most people here are fans. 90% of these games blow. 400 games maybe 50 worth taking a look. Take away shooters. You are left with around 10. CD Player was $400. Most of the good games could have been played on the original console without CD soundtrack. Turbo Graphics may have fare better in the USA. 50 Mahjong 50 Dating Sims 50 PC ports 50 Karaoke 100 Less than stellar JRPGs 100 Virtual Novels.
