Smidge of learning, afresh and never late too. Grateful, as always.

Martinet is a word I learned in my ninth standard from the book that my father gifted me - a book by Norman Lewis (30 days for pow. vocab). But I have never encountered it elsewhere. Norman lewis lists about 10 such names of individuals which came to language - some of them I remember - Joeffry Boycott, McCathyism , Bowdlerise, even the cricketing term - Mankading , Spoonerism and many more..... Martinet sounds like - Young Sheldon series' protagonist. Martinet also evokes memory of another term - Procrustes ! As in procrustes' bed.

Can you please discuss the word, Pander and Panderer. And how to use it in sentences. The variation of meaning in the UK and American "English" as they claim it's English. Stay well.
