@rachelsenglish

Hi! A native speaker would not say ""milk is over"" in this situation, but here are some examples of what a native speaker might say in this situation: ""The milk is gone."" ""The milk is finished."" ""The milk is all gone."" ""There's no more milk.""

Hi Albert! Because the first syllable of the word 'berry' in your examples has secondary stress, we can't use the schwa in these situations.

Fruit can be used as an uncountable noun or a countable noun in which case the plural form would be fruits - the later used generally when one is stressing that a variety of fruit is the focus... But generally, fruit - without the "s" is used as the plural. If you are not sure if you should use fruit or fruits, use fruit.

Yes, this is the video I watched at the first place, which indicates that to pronounce Dark L in word like "Real" or "Pull", the tongue will end up resting at the roof of the mouth. And then I saw another video kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZTXhpyQbs6dZsU This video says that to pronounce Dark L in "I'll think about it", I need to put my tongue down at the back of my bottom front teeth. So I'm trying to figure out when to put my tongue at the top of my mouth, and when to put it at the bottom of my mouth in order to pronounce Dark L. Please help me. Thank you.

I used to repeat English words as I heard them whether or not it was pronounced by an American or not American person. Some persons make fun of my pronunciation because not always I used to pronounce it appropriately. Hearing these lessons now I caught myself pronouncing a lot of English words that are not in its correct pronunciation. This IPA system I used to study but not as you are showing us...you show it with a lot of words and everyday examples and most of all you are showing the correct pronunciation by making it sound beautiful and smoothly... I find it has been useful to me. Now I am studying very carefully all your videos. Thanks a lot. I have a lot to study!!!

Hi Rachel. What do you recommend I should do here? I know that the correct pronunciation of the words below is with the /ɔ/ sound as in LAW... Long /lɔŋ/ Strong /strɔŋ/ Song /sɔŋ/ But what if I pronounce them using the /ɑ/ as in FATHER, would I be making a mistake? Long /lɑŋ/ Song /sɑŋ/ Strong /strɑŋ/ I’m waiting for the next video 😍😃😃💪🏻🇧🇷🇺🇸👏🏻.

Hello! While it is more common to use the AW as in LAW vowel for these words, I know there are some regional accents (like Boston) where they will use the AH as in FATHER vowel instead. So, you can choose which one you'd prefer to use!
