This is a great video. Awesome build. Watched with the sound off and still enjoyed every second.

If anyone wants to actually BUILD an English workbench, follow Rex’s video. This might look nice but I followed Rex’s build, built an EXTREMELY solid bench, and actually use it. A believe me it get pounded to shirt and is still as solid as the day I built it 3 years ago. No reason to lacquer your bench if you’re going to be hammering on it and sawing on it and planing on it. I’d rather a practical bench then a museum piece

I really enjoyed this. I watched it with my daughter (who was too tired from work to get off the couch while I watched one of my "boring" woodworking videos). She even asked questions about the bench design. So thanks for giving my daughter and I moment to share.

Nice video, I really like the technique of using a board as a guide when chiseling. I will borrow that.

Just found your channel, and I must say, this was a beautiful build. Love the English style face vise, and the whole execution with hand tools was absolutely lovely. Keep it up sir, you're doing great!

Excellent workmanship - better than my (now aging) efforts. I can see Paul Sellers/Rex Krueger and maybe your own ideas meshed together in this build - I may be wrong but it's how it appears to me. I really envy the amount of room you have to work in (I'm doing it in half of my lounge, literally). Keep t up, man!

Great effort put in... Nails, not timber pegs? The bench is racking due to being too light in weight? Chop out mortices before joined up? Thanks for posting.

Very nice! Had me a little nervous watching you smoothing the bench top over those nail heads - did you end up sinking them a little deeper? Also curious... any issues with the big box store 4x4s for the leg stock? I was leaning that direction at one point, but then someone said they would be more prone to splitting/twisting. Looks great!

hi I need to install one of these to my bench... my bench is 4.4 inches deep where the base plate will sit under the bench... the manual says 2 inches or 2.5 inches is optimal distance to from the bench rods to the bench top. please advise me . your rod placement looks minimum 3 inches, thanks

A lovely looking bench but you should of screwed the apron and top on it would of stopped the wobble.

Your detailed work is amazing. Do you have plans for sale for this bench?? I was planning to make a similar bench but this one is far better. I would like to understand the center piece more. Thanks

Same. I have Mike Siemsen's video and plans together with Richard Maguire's video and plans for a Nicholson bench. Diazwood has made some additions and changes that I am going to incorporate into the two I just mentioned.
