I’m glad I made it to the end of this video. Thank you for being an awesome guide. Here are some quick notes that I jotted down. To educators: Think as a guide instead of a teacher---Focus on the learners instead of the language, and try to integrate the language into their life. Create a path for learners that they can discover things themselves. Make an environment where they can discover things. Create a system that anybody can use to teach themselves . To learners: Learn the native way Improve all the individual habits Discover the language for yourself. You must own the lesson, own the language for yourself. There’s no such thing as a second language. You are born to speak, you are born to speak multiple languages. You can speak multiple first languages. You can make English your own language, your first language if you learn the native way. Exploitative learning

I first discovered EnglishAnyone 5 years ago when I was a Freshman in high school, and here's my story. Being a new immigrant in an American public high school sucked in many different ways, but the most devastating thing to me was the language barrier. At first, I thought my English would get better just by listening to natives as I was too afraid to speak any English, and it turned out that I was wrong. The first semester was almost over, yet I could hardly comprehend my classmates. There's a moment of realization that passive learning could only get me so far, so I decided to actively learn English in my free time and hoped that I could make some American friends. I started searching for English learning resources on KZbin, and magically, "Get Fluent with 1 Trick" appeared. This was truly a turning point for my English fluency journey, because I realized I had been learning English in the traditional, second language way. Looking at my textbooks and packets of class materials, I saw all the translations I had written besides those unfamiliar English words. I thought I realized something! I've been a subscriber to EnglishAnyone for 5 years now :) Drew is one of my inspirational figures, because he taught me not only the secret in approaching English, but also how to live a dedicated life.

Hi mangnolia How did u get fluent. Can u tell me how exactly
@magnoliacocco22084 жыл бұрын
@@toplists9170 there are some good actions to take. In my experience (for myself and for my students) the first one is speaking... as much as you can, pay emotionally attention on your pronunciation (the better you speak, the more you understand, even few words), from this the evolvement is inevitable.😉

@@toplists9170 sorry to take such a long time to answer you..I speak American English (I believe American is more challenging, if you learn American English is easier to get into the British one, not so easy the other way around

Your teaching way is real natural, unique and attractive and i became captivated of all your stories that you shared. The way you explain all that things about idioms, phrasal verbs and all that stuff is very natural, simple and captivating. I can see you put a lot of passion in your teaching and i am passionate myself of english language. I wish you continue like that. Thank you for your special way of learning!
