@sleeper.simulant73273 ай бұрын
I thought the same until I rode my Z900 back to back with an XSR900 last week on some mountain roads. The XSR does feel more agile, but not by much, and the Z900 overall handles a lot better. The front end has a lot more feel, it feels a lot more stable when you tip it in. It’s easier to ride fast on. The XSR felt to twitchy and agile. I’m sure the Triumph feels better than either one (haven’t ridden a street triple) but I would expect it to as it’s a Triumph, they don’t build poor handling motorcycles…

Rode my 2022 Z900 back to back with a 2024 XSR900 last week. The Z900 is faster top speed and accelerates quicker, it feels like it has more power everywhere in the rpm range, more so in the low end of the range, the CP3 triple has a surprisingly strong top end, fairly similar to the Z900. Albeit it’s not a ton faster, they’re pretty close. But the Z900 edges it out a little… below 5000/6000 rpm the Z900 has loads more torque then the MT09/XSR900, that was the biggest difference. In 60-120 mph pulls the Z900 chugged ahead every time, even after we swapped bikes. The Z900 also handles a bit better despite weighing more, and the Z900 has more tucked, cramped ergonomics. If you’re a larger rider past like 6’3” you may find the Z900 a little cramped. For my average 6’ frame it’s fine. The pegs are significantly higher and more rear set. The bars are closer to the rider but feel lower, the Z900’s front end feels a lot shorter and has a lot more feel which adds to confidence in the corners…

Rode my 2022 Z900 back to back with a 2024 XSR900 last week. The XSR is better for cruising, the ergonomics are more laid back. The Z900 is a bit more aggressive and cramped, the Z900 also has a little more power everywhere in the rpm range. Depends your riding style. For charging corners, despite being heavier, the Z900 feels better and more confidence inspiring. Both bikes will lift the front wheel in gears 1-3 without any issue on power alone…

I really wanted to like that motorcycle especially for its price point but it can’t compare to a CB. The fit and finish of that motorcycle is nowhere near Honda quality. There is a reason a 3 year old used Honda costs the same as a brand new z900

Interesting, I've not seen much difference in terms of build quality between the two brands.

Kawasaki build quality bikes , maybe the steel frame has issues? Versys 650 last forever .

@@abymathew295 oh well that's a shame...but I'm happy you are now able to get your hands on one of them😃. I mean it makes sense to wait for the 2025 update. I didn't wait, but I also didn't buy my XSR900 new. It had 1500km on it and I was offered a very very good deal so I went ahead and bought it. Maybe if there's a blue color variant in 2025 I'll regret my choice of getting an older one, but I honestly don't mind the relatively small display. And it already has a nice QuickShifter and cruise control so I think I'm glad I bought it :)

In what way? Even more tech to pamper and mollycoddle a rider with?

Dude. You're reviewing the bike. Maybe give us the fork details? It's kind of your job😂

Why is that important? Kawasaki don't advertise who makes them so 🤷♂️

@@Englishbikerdan With respect. You're reviewing the bike. Why is it important? Suspension is kind of important. It defines the ride. The make of the suspension is very important. Is it reliable? Do they have a good record? I'm not being salty mate. I just want due diligence on something that I may be buying.

@@somatykz900 is literally unbreakable, a guy on youtube has a z900 with 100.000km and still pulls hard. The forks are very decent on the standard model, not too hard and not too soft. I ride mine for 4 years now and never had even a single wobble or a feeling of unstableness.

You need to put an aftermarket exhaust on it (full system) then it will open up. The z900 has 2 catalytic converters and a huge bread box. I said the same when i bought mine, until i put a full exhaust on.

I had the 2022 z900 and for me it was an awful bike. Didn't like the riding position, the engine felt strange like it was always struggling. The seats were like bricks and have my ass a rash after each ride.

What was wrong with the riding position? Also since when does it feel like it’s struggling? The bike has a ton of power…
@Alex-if3sr3 ай бұрын
@@sleeper.simulant7327 I had the cb1000r before that and I'm comparing it to that. It wasn't struggling as in lack of power more like I had to go to higher rpm to feel the bike going. It's hard to explain. And the position was to far forward more like a sports bike than a named bike. Again comparing to my cb1000r and the current cb650r
@sleeper.simulant73273 ай бұрын
@@Alex-if3sr it is aggressive for a naked bike. The pegs are quite high and back and the bars are pretty low. I personally like that though, and the fact that you feel like you’re in the bike. Very confidence inspiring in the corners. The engine is also buttery smooth, it’s faster than it feels. I did ride a 2024 XSR900 against my 2022 Z900 last week, the XSR feels lighter and more agile but the Z900 feels a lot more confidence inspiring on the corners, it tips in better and is a lot more stable. The front end feel is also very good for a naked bike, not far off from the likes of a GSXR 600. I had one of those as a loaner for a week last year and loved that too. The CB1000 has a peaky power band due to emissions neutering its mid range, if you look at before/after tuned dyno charts it’s a crazy difference. The Z900 has a flat torque curve and a very linear power curve, gives it that smooth characteristic. My buddy and I did some roll races on the Z900 and his XSR, and the Z900 pulled even after we switched riders. It’s a pretty quick bike…
