Hi, As far as I know, in conditional sentences we cannot use will or would after if For example, if you’ll go to the part I will go too. This is incorrect It must be like this if you go to the party, I will go too. Now my question is in reported speech, again as far as I understood, we can use will or would after if Like, she asks me if I will go to the party or she asked me if I would go to the party Is that correct? Thanks in advance
@hesamvazife5073
@hesamvazife5073 4 жыл бұрын
Hi , those are not conditional sentences. And your first example is incorrect. You have to say : If you come to the party, will I come , too . This is an advanced grammar , don't worry.

But what is the meaning of was like Was all Went Go In reported speech
@vitoriagalhardo5363
@vitoriagalhardo5363 3 жыл бұрын
Haidy Sama, they are just alternative and more informal ways to say "say" in reported speech. Saying "And I went..." or "And I was like..." is the same of saying "And I said...". The only difference is that "said" is neutral (you can use it in both informal and formal situations) and "went" and "be like" (and also "go" and "was all") are informal.

An English teacher made a reported speech out of simple present. She changed "She eats lunch" to "She said she ate lunch." How can a habit be turned into past tense in the reported speech? I think it is not correct. Can someone help me out with this?
@NoName-tx9xt
@NoName-tx9xt 4 жыл бұрын
Why sometimes do we use past tense instead of using the past perfect ? Like : He said " The Romans spoke Latin" ---> He said that the Romans SPOKE latin.
