The answer to the question....The books needs is wrong. When the "subject" books is plural the predicate "verb" does not have the letter "s".... the books need is the right correct English ussage. You have to be careful because we of course presume that the author of these English challenge tests is an expert entity in English grammar.

Question: #1: "going to going"??? My choice would be "visit." #2: "The exam was MORE difficult than I expected." #3: Common error. The sentence subject is "you," so the objective case pronoun "whom" would be correct. #16: "neighbors" pural. And yes, answer D is correct. #25: Answer D also, simple past.
