@Spartas91: His CDs are available from Amazon.com, including this selection from "New Seasons." The "New Seasons" DVD is available from Germany's Amazon.de or eBay. It is a region 2 disc, which cannot be played on region 1 American DVD players. If you have a multi-region DVD player, you will have no problem though.

The sound overall is very, very nice, and in particular the interaction between Mayer and Gauci-Ancelin is perfect. But what happens between 4:17 and 4:20? If my ears don't worry, I hear a flute there - but there is none in the orchestra and the soloist is not playing either........nevertheless, it's wonderful music!

Looks like they dubbed it over and forgot that the flute soloist played the cues during the take from which they recorded the audio. You can find this sort of thing in lots of video productions. It's filmed to look live but the audio must not be.

Mayer is a MUCH better oboist than he is an English hornist. The sound he achieves on the EH is simply too thin and pinched.
