At 15:21. That is the Maltese freshwater crab (Qabru), the same species featured on the old maltese 5c coin. It is endemic to certain areas within the Maltese Islands, Fomm ir-Rih being one of them. You were lucky to spot one cause apparently its very rare and its numbers have been decreasing in recent years. Loved the vlog 😀

Lovely video, great views and beautiful surroundings. Don't apologise for the rant, plastics are a scourge of the oceans and the beaches and people need to dispose of them thoughtfully. I'm glad you mentioned it. We're of to Malta on Friday and fingers crossed we might be able to find that bay, what a glorious day that would be. I'll leave you to discover the local wildlife though I like having 10 toes lol. Thanks again for another great video showing some of the less known parts of Malta but certainly the most beautiful.

Charlie Pace yes the road pretty awful , that part of Malta been neglected for years , the next adventure is another beautiful place, imtahleb for 3/4 hours I just talked to two people just as I left a few people turned up to see the sunset, but I noticed Bahrija is getting built up so just a matter of time , thanks Charlie's nice comments....

That looks pretty wild! Are there many abandoned buildings in the area? I slept in a few when I was hitchhiking beaches around Spain. I'm curious about the sea level in the past. That steep curve you passed almost looks like it's been shaped by the waves! I would have swam into the cave for sure. Shame about the plastic. I saw a lot on the east coast of Taiwan, and glass medicine bottles. So many that I didn't want to step foot in the ocean.
@TheHunterTravellerChannel7 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could report the plastic waste to the local council or tourism office? I'm sure they would act on it.
@EnglishmaninMalta7 жыл бұрын
The Hunter Traveller The valley was made by water running from the land into into the sea over 1000s of years, that place is full of small hunters huts but no real building, plastic it's a big problem for islands, in fact I filled a large plastic bag, but it keeps coming from the sea, we have organizations that make groups of people to go collecting, Thanks for your comments love your videos , check out the videos from hamrun festa, the one on Sunday morning was crazy !!!!
@EnglishmaninMalta7 жыл бұрын
The Hunter Traveller sure they know about it !! But we have groups that try to combat the continuous problem " Plastic "
@TheHunterTravellerChannel7 жыл бұрын
Englishman in Malta Awesome Steve, will check it out! It's good they have those groups. I've heard of groups doing mass beach clean-ups, rescuing animals after oil spills, etc. Great to see that in today's crazy world! Always a pleasure..love your videos too mate and it makes me miss that side of the world even more!! Not sure weather to get out of the 'danger zone' before things potentially go pear shaped with the N.K -USA tension. I've heard Taiwan could Station U.S military bases, but who knows. Kinda torn between where to teach, but maybe doing it online is a better option so I can be anywhere in the world. Anyways..enjoy the weather over there. Looks perfect!
