After the war, Germany became the main beneficiary of the Marshall Plan. So they got immediate compensation. They got a lot of money even though they were the main aggressor. Poland, much more destroyed and robbed, did not receive a single dollar or german mark. Poor germans ...

BS. Firstly, the main beneficiaries were the UK and France. Secondly, Stalin refused aid from the Marshall Plan in the East. Thirdly, the Marshall Plan was not a gift, but US products could be PURCHASED ON CREDIT! MP share of the German economic miracle 10%. Without MP, the US economy would have collapsed.

I sympathize with everyone who had to deal with the war. On the other hand, according to historians, every fifth German belonged to the NSDAP and the war had the greatest support in the 6th year of the war. They supported Hitler because entire trains brought animals, clothes and other goods from the occupied territories to Germany, which were given away in exchange for the participation of family members in the war. I am not even mentioning the forced laborers from Poland and other occupied countries, who were treated like slaves. As for Berlin, according to the data, almost 70% of the buildings were suitable for habitation and out of the pre-war population of 4.3 million people, 2.8 million remained alive. Compare this to Warsaw, where 85% of the buildings were completely destroyed and out of the pre-war population of 1.3 million, 162 thousand people remained. Don't expect Poles to feel sorry for poor Germans. We know very well that there were people among them who fought against Hitler, but they were a handful. The vast majority supported him and suffered the consequences. There should be no wars at all and the suffering associated with them, but if someone supports an aggressive war, as most Russians today support aggression against Ukraine, they should be prepared for retaliation.

Wydaje ci sie glupie, ze ten kto wspiera agrsje i wojne sam pod soba kopie dolek i powinien spodziewac sie odwetu? I dug up an old photo...me........was about 16 years old....I hug Mega in my arms....she was our beloved dog for 17 years..passed away 3 years ago...I still feel like she will come to me and start begging/squealing for food when I'm cooking in the kitchen... She came to me in my dreams a few times... she's fine;)was like my sister...I slept in trhe same bed with her;). ........my siblings, dad and I treat animals like people... they have their own unique personalities;)..... They understand everything, can't speak....but that doesn't mean that they are worse than us...absolutely not;)our abilities differ.....we can speak,,sing.....but they.... have a wonderfully developed sixth sense..... premonitions when something is about to happen....they see, feel and receive information from other frequencies;) the beautiful hat is my eldest brother's..he's a soldier;) and would never leave Poland... he would fight for her (Polska)"until the last drop of blood"..Im proud of Him;)

Destroy of Berlin it is so not enough for all murders made by Nazis in Poland during WWII. And situation of Poland after WWII was cause by betray of Poland in Yalta by western alies. To build modern and safe coutry we needed only 30 years. In fact that was a hard work but it is done. So what it can be seems if we had a enough money and help like Germans had?

W tamtej epoce budynki bylty z cegieł. Tak się budowało. Strach pomyśleć - jak wyglądają zniszczenia, (z porównywalnych powodów) gdy budynki nie są z cegieł, a na przykład z "wielkiej płyty". Ale - bez polityki - dobrze, że takie filmy przetrwały. Są początkiem refleksji u wielu ludzi.

Z Ukrainy obrazki sobie pooglądaj to zobaczysz, że wielka płyta potrafi stać z wyrwaną połową ściany.

@@laggyluke5700 Naprawdę? Podczas bombardowań, ostrzału czy w kontakcie z pożarami - a więc drgania i wysoka temperatura- uważasz, że betonowa warstwa jest lepsza niż ceglana? Otóż, zostaję przy swoim. Bez urazy.

@@Inktvis_777 to nadal jest słowo przeciwko słowu. Cegła też wytrzymuje wiele. Można powiedzieć "z syryjskiego Aleppo obrazki sobie pooglądaj ..." Chyba nie chodzi o to, żebyśmy się kłócili które pół ściany ładniej odpadło. Technologia budowania zmienia się na przestrzeni lat. Teraz już nie buduje się z wielkiej płyty. Jednakowoż w obliczu bombardowań lub ostrzału, zniszczenia nie omijają. Smutnych czasów dożyliśmy, że nie myślimy w kierunku " no, jednak po II wojnie ludzkość się odbudowała" tylko myślimy "a jak nam się powtórzy coś podobnego..."

The people chiefly responsible for the reconstruction were German women called “Trimmerfraun “ or rubble women . All of Germany was bombed over 5 years from both sides so it was a real mess . 3/4 of Berlin was destroyed
