There are many ways to write a conclusion paragraph, as emphasized in this video. The structure recommended here--which is helpful for beginners, but even for advanced students who are at a loss on how to wrap up their essay--is to review the main idea in the thesis statement, plus the main point in the topic sentence of each paragraph. There's nothing in front of the conclusion paragraph in the video. Do you mean the closed captions (CC)? Turn them off, and use the transcript option instead. To do that, click the three buttons below the video. Then choose "transcript."

Hi Shaquanna Ford, a research paper looks similar to the essay in this video, but it's longer and needs to show where you found your facts (both in the essay, plus a page added at the end with a list of books or articles where you found your facts). See the example below. NOTE: This example is in APA format, but your college might use MLA format, which differs from the example below--ask your professor which format to use. UPDATE: I removed the link to the MLA paper because the introduction paragraph(s) in the example were done very oddly. The explanations on formatting in the boxes were correct--but the introduction used "I" to explain the author's approach. Avoid doing this in a research paper...just dive right into the information and don't use "I" as you explain it!

Hello, you don't have to have three examples. However, you need to have enough examples (or other types of details) to explain the topic sentence. Details can be examples, reasons, and other types of support or "proof" that explains the topic sentence. Three is a good number. Two can be okay. One usually isn't enough, but it depends on the other sentences in the paragraph.
