Even if you mention at the end by Jyoti.. It still makes the sentence passive correct because Jyoti is mentioned but not first... the object was, so it isnt as important...since she is now an indirect...what exactly? Agent of the action? Does that mean you could consider the phone both the object talked about and the subject of the sentence? Its kind of both is it not?
@EnglishWithAshish3 жыл бұрын
Originally, the doer (subject) is Jyoti. But the focus is shifted on to the object of the verb in the passive verb.
@carlnikolov3 жыл бұрын
@@EnglishWithAshish thats funny. In latin the verb is conjugated to indicate the passive voice but the object stays in the nominative so its both the subject (since its nominative case) and the object (of the verb) of the sentence since in Latin only subjects are allowed to stay in the nominative case. English is much simpler.

First sumudu's parents didn't approve of him setting up his own business...sir could you kindly explain why '' setting up '' is used here? Is this object of the preposition ?
@EnglishWithAshish4 жыл бұрын
"Him setting up the business" is the object of the preposition. "Setting up" gives information about the pronoun.
@carlnikolov3 жыл бұрын
@@EnglishWithAshish is "setting up" an example of an adjectival phrase where the verb is being used as a noun? Usually the case with words ending in ING?
