I am always amazed with your knowledge and patient . I have a question for the following sentence, would you please make a video regarding my question? "Twenty first century readers may have different values and expectations than DID their counterparts in earlier centuries." I understand you can also say it like : "twenty first century readers may have different values and expectations than their counterparts in earlier centuries. (without "did") 1. the pattern of reversing the verb DID. what is this pattern? I can say : you have more books than I do. But I don't think one can say:"You have more books than Do I. " I always have trouble and confused by using Present Tense when talking about something in the Past. I know one can use it when it is referred to a fact, but when to use it is always confusing to me.

Appreciation the kind words! I'm not sure if the first example is correct. The inversion makes no sense there. The inversion happens happens in certain situations, that's not any of those. I'll make a lesson on it soon! :)

Respected sir, being undisputedly the tallest of all grammarians across the globe as well as the most handsome hunk, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to solve the following issue that different teachers have answered differently.The Question is --They reached the station.Then the train left.(Join the sentences using 'When '). Sir, my probable answers-(A) When they reached the station, the train left (B) When they had reached the station, the train left (C) The train left when they had reached the station.

Sir muje "present perfect and past simple" chooj karne me (speaking point of view as well as exam point of view) dikkat Hoti he. jaise ki..... Yeah glass kisne toda?(tuta huva glass Abhi bhi vahi he....speaking point of view) Who broke the glass? Who has broken the glass?(exam point of view kyu ki tutaa huva glass Abhi bhi vahi he...) Past simple muje sahi lagta he....bhalehi uska connection present me he...grammer ke hisaab se agar past action ka link present me ho to" present perfect" use karna chahiye(kyu ki tuta huva glass Abhi bhi vahi he ....means tumne yeah glass kyu toda he?) Who has broken the glass?(yeah glass kisne toda he?)yeah thoda formal jaisa lagta he. Means Hume gusse wali feeling past simple me aaati he jab ki present perfect me speaker Ko glass tutne se koi jyaadi fark nahi padaa he aisi feeling aaati he. Aisihi kaafi variation Daily conversation me hum anger wali feeling kaa use karte he jiska present me connection he Lekin Bolte "past simple"me he....jaise ki Tumne yeah glass kyu toda?(Ruta huva glass Abhi bhi vahi he) Tumne mere saath Aisa kyu Kiya?(tumne mere saath present me kuch kiyaa he ....uski effect he esiliye me ye savaal puch rahaa hu ki tumne mere saath Aisa kyu Kiya he?) Please guide me..... speaking point of view se yeah to flexible(hum tense change kar sakte he) he Lekin exam point of view sekya hona chahiye? Generally grammer always formal speaking hi sikhata he....yaa fir formal writing hi sikhata he....to exam me kya likhe Who has broken the glass?(formal) Who broke the glass?(gussewali feeling) Please ho sake to ....espar ek video banaeye.....speaking point of view and exam point of view.

Sir, Could you please tell me any solution for this. Eventhough I can speak English fulllently, sometimes I'm doubting my self . Example - 1)' if I speak on Monday ,another day I think that i can't speak in English' . 2)Also if i speak in my native language, I think that I forget English language .I can't speak anymore. 3)Sometimes some easy and casual words doesn't come to mind . Specially Tired time Could you please tell me some solutions for this ?
@EnglishWithAshish4 жыл бұрын
Hey, dear! It's a very common thing. It happens majorly because you are confident about what you know and how you can use it. There's only one solution to this: more engagement. Listen to English as much as possible, try to speak with people in English everyday (for hours) If you don't have anyone to speak with, just speak to yourself. Start thinking in English. And most importantly, repeat these things regularly. In some time, you'll start gaining confidence, and your level will step up. Hope this helps!

Present simple tense vs present perfect tense Both examples are in passive voice. I love you. (Simple present, active) You are loved. (Simple present, passive) She has finished the movie recently. (Present perfect, active) A movie has been finished recently. (Present perfect, passive)
