Jennifer does it again. i could count at least 21 different meanings to the word "so" in the 16 min video. As a pronoun, so refers to a whole range of antecdents of shades in the B-W spectrum. The wider the meanings, deeper the language. That is English. In India, the word is used to refer to an inknown person, a common usage is , " So and so said this, but you don't have to go hearsay". We repeat words for emphasis. of course, so is used as conjunction to show consequence. It is like the word therefore. My teacher in the MBA class used to machine gun fire the unlucky student in her grip in the classroom with a So at the end of his reply to her questioning . Finally,the victim ran out of answers, no argument left. He realised that his initial statement was without a base. (And the rest of the class had a good laugh at the expense of the trapped). My wife tries to use the so weapon on me in our many arguments over trifles. I have learnt to parry her by silence or humour. Thanks once again for sowing the so word.

Be sure you put period at the end of sentences. 13:45 A comma should not be between the word "Facebook" and the space bar. 16:07

Thanks for keeping an eye on punctuation. Remember "that" can be dropped. Just because it's dropped doesn't mean we replace it with a period. Some writers stick in a comma, but I don't think it's necessary. See another example here: www.britannica.com/dictionary/so The library is so large (that) you could get lost in it.

Super lesson. There are so many ways to use "so." It's a pity that the discourse marker isn't acceptable in academic writing. However, there are alternatives; "So, there is no need to go there." - "This means that there is no need to go there." 🍓🍋🍏

I can't understand this whole sentence firstly they didn't use helping verb after question word " why" isn't be like Why does ? and then "if clause" because as far I get here it is not used as conditional . That's an informal way to express one's excitement and commitment. I'm so going to that party! (No one can stop me.) I'm so doing it. (I'm so excited I can burst.) Are you with me? - I'm so with you! (I'm totally with you -- often in the sense of agreement and support.) You won't find this pattern recognized in grammar books, but it's used in informal conversation. It's okay to use in that context.
