I am English and can confirm that Katherine's accent is absolutely perfect! :) I will probably upset some people for saying what I am about to say, but it is important for people learning English to understand. Katherine does not have a 'British' accent, she has an English accent. I am not just being pedantic (picky) saying this, there is a big difference. There is no such thing as a British accent because Britain comprises several countries with very different accents. What you are hearing with Katherine is a perfect English accent :)
@englishwithkatharine3 ай бұрын
Hmm. You are being pedantic if you won’t say that “Katharine has A British accent” - my accent is a British accent as England is part of Britain. The issue is that I don’t have THE British accent. Which would assume there aren’t any others.
@PauloG1003 ай бұрын
@@englishwithkatharine Hi Katherine. Sorry you think I am wrong. I think you may have misunderstood my point but not to worry, it’s not a big issue. Keep up the good work helping people to speak English (not British) 😀

To most Americans, most British people sound like they are singing when speaking. Now we know why - mostly because of the intonations in the way you speak. And we love the way you speak. We are mostly monotone compared to you British but that is okay. You next lesson if you have not taught it yet is the difference in British and American parallel form in writing. Examples: British: We have several engineers from Italy, Spain, Canada and America. American: We have several engineers from Italy, Spain, Canada, and America. If it has changed in writing then updates us all.
