As a South american living in the US for 11 years; I find British English very elegant on how each word is pronounced. Although it's easier for me to understand American English; I'd rather watch Sky News in order to get imbued by how the brits speak out. In fact, it is my wish to do such a tour throughout the British isles to know more about their history, language, religion, and customs.

You will find lots of different accents, Dante, in the UK - RP, estuary English, The English spoken in and around Birmingham, Yorkshire, Geordie, South Wales and various accents in Scotland (Glasgow, Inverness, the Western Isles). There is a LOT to see in the UK and if you visit I am sure you will enjoy it.

Yes, British accent English is more elegant, but it is slightly challenging to be practised in Malaysia when you are native local Malaysian. In Malaysia, English is the second language practised for business and education, but we are not practised British accent. When speaking English with British accent to each other, it is an errogant for local Malaysian people feeling.

The Schwa is a regular letter in the Romanian alphabet rendered as Ă, ă. It is very important, look at this: casa = casă la casa = casa So look at it in new English spelling: Lemăn Dălivă: Bănaană

In Spanish (my language), we don't have schwa, all of our 5 vowels are pure-open vowels: a, e, i, o, u. So, we also have "sofá", but it is 'sO-fA', exactly as you did in the example 😅

I have been living here in Uk for 8 years and still trying to learn British accent. when I came here it was so difficult to understand local people bcuz I just learned English as a subject in my country, never used of English in speaking. I felt so bad that time as i couldn't get a job in my field. I used to work as a graphic designer in my country but it was difficult for me to get the same job in UK. all because of English speaking. Then I joined ESOL classes where I knew that I already know English and grammar but it's formal English. if you want to communicate with local people you need to listen to them. your ears get used to it. after 3 years, I was ok, it was easy to get people in city centre and on street. now I run my own business. I live in East Midlands so it is easy to understand west midlands accent, mostly same but recently I got a call from Scotland and I was shocked 😳 i didn't understand them properly. Fortunately my nephew was with me so i requested him.. if he could help me. He's born and bred here but he was also struggling to...
