Sorry for the delay in replying. 'Live' is one of those tricky words that can be used as a verb, adjective & adverb. As a verb, 'live' is pronounced using the short vowel sound /ɪ / as /lɪv/, but the adjective and adverb are pronounced using the diphthong /aɪ/ as /laɪv/, so it's a longer vowel sound as in the word 'nice' /naɪs/.
