One more tip from me. When speaking, don't rush. Being fluent doesn't mean speaking fast. In this way, the human brain will have time to remember and apply the vocabulary and grammatical rules needed.

The summary of the six action plans to break free from struggles with spoken English: Action Plan 1: Talk to Yourself Practice speaking English by narrating your daily activities or thoughts out loud. Action Plan 2: Talk to a Tutor Engage in conversation with a personal English tutor who can provide corrections and feedback. Action Plan 3: Write and Practice Write down what you want to say before speaking, especially in situations or conversation topics that interest you. Action Plan 4: Focus on Fluency Prioritize fluency over perfection or accuracy. Action Plan 5: Use Language Learning Apps Action Plan 6: Seek Immersion Opportunities Find opportunities to immerse yourself in English-speaking environments. Thank you, lovely Lucy. I will definitely incorporate four of these action plans in my next 3d animation video. Thank you for the inspiration! 😍😍😍😍

My elementary school English teacher was this really strict older lady that pretty much everyone either disliked or downright hated. But now, over 20 years later, I can safely say that she was my favorite English teacher throughout my school career. She didn't tolerate any shenanigans so, even though it sucked as a kid, we actually got things done during class. If someone had a question or didn't understand something she explained things well. She wasn't there to make friends or be nice with the kids, she was there to teach us. And in hindsight I really appreciate it. I don't think I would've picked up as much as I did with any other teacher. Later on I became a lazy student and did very little actual studying and ended up learning most of my English from watching tv, movies and reading things online 😂

I came from the future to let you know that your tips worked really well. In fact, I had to give a public speech recently and I was very nervous about it but then I made a little joke about my English skills. This turned out to be very effective in terms of letting my anxiety go. By then everyone was laughing WITH me -even myself-. So I nailed the presentation and spoke straight off a bat! Thanks!

I can actually relate to this too. I had a childhood friend whom I befriended at the age of three. He moved to Canada when we were in 8th grade. At that time, I was the top scorer in almost all of my English classes, and even on the final test, I scored second in the whole province. I've always kept in contact with my friend through text because I was confident in my grasp of grammar and language. However, when we met in person, my voice seemed to disappear, leaving me at a loss for words. It was as if I had forgotten English entirely! While I could write in English without making any grammatical mistakes, when it came to speaking, I just seemed to vanish. I think this has to do with the fact that I've never actually engaged in extended conversations with native English speakers before.

American is my first language and I still struggle with speaking in the maternal tongue. It boils down to practice. The more you use that "muscle" the stronger it will get. Just spit out the word vomit, reflect on your mistakes and commit to memory how you will remedy it next go around.

Tho I'm glad most of the tips you gave, I've already been following them for a long time. I talk with myself a lot in English and that little voice in my head which acts as an altar ego also speaks with me in English. Which I think helps me keep the volatility of my English speaking ability. And tbh it's not a very practical method but it's an effective enough method to keep a steady flow of your English language 👍🏻

there have been several geniuses that were... simply shy, or introvert... I've been lucky to meet (and befriend) a famous Italian singer, who once told me that it took him several years to be able to get on a stage and sing in front of a large audience. He had been singing in the company of his friends, no problem, but when he was getting on stage he felt panic. Another thing that might help: have you ever tried to read, or just say what you think, to a tape recorder?

Wow! I can relate on this video of coz I live in the Philippines...coz in our country we usually talk in our mother language and even though some of us can understand and can speak a little bit of english we can't say that we can speak english fluently specially if we converse with a much slang english people and we often say when that happens is "we got nose bleed" meaning we had a hard time talking and understanding english, that's why i found your video very useful specially for me as i work in BPO and it's a shame that i had hard time constructing english...

I speak fluently, but often times fail to speak like a native would. People will most likely fail to determine that I'm a foreigner based solely on the accent, as my pronunctiation has been called perfect by the vast majority of English speakers I talked to. However, they might realise I'm foreign due to me not using the expressions that native speakers tend to use regularly. This is usually the result of me not remembering all these words and phrases at the time.
