A quick guide of how to enable the throttle accelerator for the new ENGWE ENGINE X eBike.
Looking like the ENGWE ENGINE PRO, the new ENGINE X model has a very smart trick. You are aware that bikes sold in the EU "should" have 250W power and to only work in assisted mode (no throttle). Well we also know that 250W is slow, weak and we also like accelerators when we are on "private roads". So ENGWE solved this, they made the X mode that comes with just "250W" power and a non-working throttle. With a bit of "magic" you can change the controller settings and the bike will ramp up to ~1000W top power, while the accelerator would be enabled! So you can now have a bike for both words, EU compliant and of course FUN compliant. Because the bike is also sold to EU and there is should be restricted. The advanced settings and unlocking is not for everyone as there are a lot of pople changing other settings they should not ending in getting an nonworking bike or killing the battery.

I would like to know: how the Engine X performs going uphill locked to 250 watts, speed limit 25kph and the throttle not engaged; how it does uphill with the speed unlocked and then with both the speed limit unlocked and the throttle enabled. I would prefer not to unlock it from it's factory default settings. However, I am 17 stone and live in a hilly town so am concerned that the factory settings might not be good enough for me.

Wondering if you know this display if faulty as I charged my battery fully but it only shows one green bar, when using my bike the battery meter flashes telling me no more charge! I can see on your other video that it can be unlocked tonanmax of 60 kmh. Which could also be 45 kmh. But is it possible to adjust the throttle to a certain speed, let's say assist to 25 kmh, even though the bike can go the 45 kmh?

The bike has default 5 electric "gears", each as a speed and power ratio limit, so 1st gear is ~10km/h, 2nd is 18km/h, 3rd is 25km/h, 4th is 35km/h and 5th is unlimited. So both assist & throttle is limited to the gear ratio. The throttle is also fully proportional so on 5th gear you can ride it from ~10km/h up to maximum of 45+km/h. You can see a lot more details about this in my full review about this bike. Just look it up my channel.

It's all down to care and maintenance, if you keep the bike in good conditions it can work for a lot more time.

No, it can not be enabled / disabled on the go. Only stationary and only like in this video.

I think it's possible. You should first disable it from settings, then you can unplug it and see if you get any error codes.

I only have the regular C20 (non pro) and I don't know how and if it's possible to unlock your model as it has a different controller and it has a display.

Speed is not related only power. The equation is more complex and it is related also to the motor windings and system voltage.

Yes, disable the throttle and use the "-" button for 5-6km/h walk assist mode.

@@TechTronic9000 Yes it works for C20 Pro. I was sent your video from Engwe Support directly. The only difference with C20 Pro is that the display does not show "ERROR 22" when holding throttle+brake. But after doing the steps the throttle will still be unlocked.

If you have the X model then is like in this video (and the other one related tot this), you just need to restrict it back to 25km/h and disable throttle.

That is just the LCD model, what it is displayed it's actually embedded in the LCD controller and in the bike controller. In short it's not possible on this model.
