OTT Killer, Honestly one of the best upwards/downwards comps I've ever used. So cool that its a stock plugin too so it's super CPU efficient. I think Dom does a great job showing its capability but it can be meticulous in it's outcome. really taking the time to understand the fundamentals of upwards compression really takes this plug to a higher level. So many options for reshaping, one of the best cubase stock plugins in my opinion.

There is one glaring error here in that if that "Up" knob is controlling how much low level content is being raised, it is NOT an expander. It is upward compression. An upward expander will increase the already louder content of a signal.

Yup, for the “OTT” sound it is needed.

Hi Dom! If possible, please record a full episode of SQUASHER in the future explaining its functions in detail. I have no idea how to use it and so far I only use presets ..

Hi, cool video! I am new to Cubase, do you have a video tutorial in how to properly set up and customize color theme & interfaces? Would be cool! Because I really like the color theme that you have on this video and would like to have something similar! Thanks and cheers!

Interesting tool, eager to check it out. But: make no mistake: there is a change in level... you can easily see that the RMS level is about 2dB lower when bypassed (around 3min and 3min30 in the video). Streaming platforms will turn down the track by about that value. For a neutral comparison, you would have to compare the sound with same loudness.

looks like it can also be used as a multi-band gate though right? Handy for those of us trying to minimize high end hi hat bleed in snare tracks maybe?

Any possibility of a separate clip launch mode like in Abelton live so I don't have switch daws for live performances ? Is that asking for too much ?

I wonder with the Squasher if you put this before the softclipper en maximizer in mastering or do you drop maximizer and or softclipper? since I have impression this is fighting eachother no?
@maksklinec3 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the context, but it shouldn’t clash with each other, this is just a form of compression, just like a maximiser is

I didn't get what this plugin do. Reminds me Pensado with his 3% to 5% rotary change but you don't hear any difference at all. You will always recognize OTT, I doubt it's an OTT analog.

You are destroying the groove of the track with the squasher . Without it sound much better .
