Please consider how the LBS belt especially fits in with the ALICE pack and field pack frame. Reduce heat injuries yes, but the frame rests on the belt and results in possible hip injuries.

Our previous helmet was a copy of the MICH 2000 helmet, before that the PASGT, and our first helmet was just the M1 steel helmet lol.

LBS belt is so solid. Can take weight of water bottle, ammo and many more. And I'm quite sure they will continue to fit snugly under the belly..... when these young soldiers become uncles with pot-bellies.

Wore that during SCS and with the hard plate i couldnt breathe, the side clips that slot in is difficult when wearing soft plates heh. But nice to see SAF doing something, will we get to wear this? or stick with our lbs belt?

I wish we got this, I was 1 batch before the rollout. Fuck me the ilbv does nothing for heat dissipation, we were routinely running light fevers during field camp around noon because it was so fucking hot

@@ironboy3245 wa cant leh.. usually what I do is during route march or range, if got any of the lao jiaos MC/Fall out I just approach them to swap vests. I think depends on unit also. If you cdo/guards MAYBE they will let u swap.

I personally think that our soldiers should train in heavy gear, but fight in light gear, It's not possible to deploy our men to be maneuverable, when they have huge amounts of extra 'just in case' gear

Is there a quick way to release the LBS to check wounds or render first aid? The U.S Army system has emergency pull cord by which the vest can be immediately detached from the wearer’s body in just one pull. This is an important practical consideration, especially if wearer collapses onto the ground after sustaining injuries on the battlefield.

Or you fall overboard on an extraction mission and you have to get out of your vest very quickly to avoid drowning.

I left the army as a regular 8 years ago. 15 years back, so many times the ground commanders had brought up the heat and bulky issues of the vest. Bloody hell, the army took 15 years to revamp the design after so many lives were losted to heat injuries. The entire army feedback system is broken, mid level commanders always like to bring good news to the top and ignore the bad ones, freaking carry balls can climb rank faster! This should had been done 10 years back and many boys won't have to suffer heat stroke injuries!

@@mvp2526 you complain ok reasonable but then they need time to develop new equipment and make sure that it will blend in to the uniform and also make sure that your heat signature is also dispersed properly right and the already introduce the hybrid shirt a while a ago which I suppose were to compensate for the heat dispersion issue of the old one first

Ya now we are back to using the sotong design. Lppl. I was issued the 1st gen lbv in 2007 which wasn't that bad. Was reissued the ilbv in 2013 as nsman and that was totally shit. Poor weight distribution, great for heat injuries and the neck collar keeps eating into my neck when you place the full pack at the back and sitting on the utility pouch. So they realised the old design was still better. At least it's a learning experience.

The LBV sucks. i rem we r doin Atect.. chiong then water bag break.. OMG hot weather no more water to drink..Army should listen to veteran and feedback from NSF and regulars especially combatants.. seem like hard to breath if solders have the plate on.. proning seems diffcult with plate

Lots of budget to spend on unnecessary and dumb things. 1. LBS (regardless of one or two pieces will trap heat easily. It is especially harmful for long route march and in Singapore very hot weather. No wonder so many NS men died of heatstoke. 2)Field pack is unnecessary heavy, in time of war every gram count. To load soldiers with such heavy load is going to wear them off or die of exhaustion before they face the enemy. 3.) Long route march is the most stupid dumb exercise. It was not a norm in the past, now it has. In real war (esp Singapore), if the soldier need to walk such long distances. Can they still fight after the march? It looks like all these r design and implemented by leaders who has never go to war n hv not consider the practicality. Incompetency in charge !!!!!!
