Diversity always wins the day when it comes to deer habitat. The more diversity we can offer deer in any given area, the more the deer tend to respond.
This is no different with creating deer bedding structure. Giving the deer options for different types or bedding structure within their bedding areas will result in more deer usage.
In this video, I discuss how I'm enhancing the old field areas on our farm. In particular, I show how I'm using tree planting to enhance the bedding structure that's already there.
Edit: There were some red pines mixed in the trees I was transplanting as well.
