I think it's good how Heesung turned down the role, both for himself and the team. I like how no BigHit leader is chosen by being the oldest member, especially because it can put the other members in a hard position to speak up. I think heesung is a great listener and the best older brother for all of Enhypen and I think he will be their quiet support. And then Jay I think he is super leader material as well. Jay will surely be their lifestyle leader in spirit, and he and Jake can take more responsibility when they have English interviews! Jay has the best spirit and he can make his members comfortable and laugh a lot, and I think our lifestyle leader is always important! He's still Enhypen's mom.

I also expected Jay, because bighit in general takes care of their artist mental health so if Heeseung turned into the leader, the weight in his shoulders would be pressuring. But I also realized the members don't really see Jay as a leader figure, so as the position depends on them, I had doubts. After Jay, I did considered Jungwon, but I also doubted because he's in the maknae line and that was the only thing that made me doubt. I'm glad the members rely on him, I believe their future is very bright! Even tho I'm not an engene, I watched all of iland and am excited to see what they do!

i’m actually relieved that heeseung turned down the role, because it would be too much for him. i’m guessing he is the center, main vocal. he is also the oldest and im guessing he also leads their performance practices. If he took the role as a leader it would kinda look like heeseung ft enhypen, and thats too much pressure for him. Congrats jungwonieee

It's not really disrespecting elder members if both parties agreed to assign the role to someone younger. Heeseung turned it down, it wasn't taken from him. Also the older members aren't usually the leader. Prime example is WINNER

Why would they get some "side eyes" now? Soobin isn't the oldest in TXT, RM isn't the oldest in BTS. Even back in the day, Jo Kwon wasn't the oldest in 2am. And there have been many group leaders in other groups that weren't the oldest (G-Dragon, Yunho, etc). This isn't really unusual.

I think Jungwon matches IZ’s leader Hyunjun for age, but If i remember right none of the IZmembers were of age yet. And it still stands that having the oldest be the leader is normal and that is why people make it a point to say it when that isn’t the case. I’m thinking maybe side-eye means something a bit more forceful where other people live than where I do. I use it as a thing that is different enough to think ‘well why did they do that’ but not to say anything about it in public conversation.

I moved away from the groups that I was part of the fandom because of enhypen (it wasn’t on purpose, it just happened) and jungwon is my utt, I was very surprised but at the same time very happy and satisfied, jungwon has always shown himself to be a person who has his feet on the ground, he is a very wise person even at such a young age. Don't know if I could get use to Jungwon being a leader. I thought it would be Heeseung or Jay, they would have been great leaders. I don't know about one of the youngest, he'll need a lot of support so young. I think they should have picked one of the older ones, but I might rethink about this. Might stan don't know, have to see how it goes. Do love the three Bighit trainees, especially Jay. Just have to see how this very young leader does, so much pressure for someone so young even though they say he is mature. Jay just might pressure me to stan, but either way I'll support the boys.
