Love the song! Love how Enigma samples the vocals of Namjilyn Norovbanzad (Mongolian singer). The track fits perfectly here.

The reason is because the song was made for her character "Carly" in the movie Sliver. This version is called "Carlys Song". On the Enigma album its "Age of lonliness (Carlys Song)" and sounds slightly different. The album version single has its own entirely different video.

Ребята, это и есть ОРИГИНАЛ. Age Of Loneliness был АДАПТИРОВАН для The Cross of Changes именно из Carly's Song. Так уж сложилось, что к моменту создания The Cross Of Changes у Cretu уже была написана Carly's Song. Но она не подходила (очевидно) к остальной части альбома, поэтому Cretu решил переделать её в то, что называется Age Of Loneliness. Carly's Song и Carly's Loneliness были написаны им специально для санудтрека к Щепке (Sliver).

Yeah the altered the song and title slightly for a difference between the album and the soundtrack. There is a little more dance synth drum in just "Carlys Song" as opposed to the album version "Age of lonliness (Carlys Song)" there is also an additional chant added to the Sliver version (This one). In the movie they actually had 3 versions of this song and they played "principles of lust" remix during the sex scene after the elevator scene.

The song is part of a soundtrack for the movie Sliver, staring (Carly) played by sharron stone and william baldwin in which Carly resembled a girl who lived in the very same flat who got murdered, the song its self was used to reflect modern contemporary techno music for a sex scene in the movie, whilst this was happening a murder would be unfolding in the building hence the sharp noises and the woman vocals - its sort of a dark satanic / modern seductive theme for the movie.
